Expectations for next season

I do know that unless something changes we're going to be in an uphill struggle for a CL place.

My only hope / expectation right now would be that the manager gets the team playing with some passion and belief again, which was entirely absent for most of last year. If we fall short then we can at least be proud of the effort and know firmly who to blame for the lack of investment (we're never going to get £15m to spend this summer).

It's a hard ask IMO and hopefully it will be clearer sooner rather than later.

I'd love to see our big names commit soon and some quality brought in but I don't think anything will happen for quite a while unfortunately.

If we keep all the players that we want to keep and buy Turan and a good striker and one or two other squad players I'll be a bit more hopeful.

i think its probably a bit early to talk about our 'expectations' for the coming season because we dont know whats happening with our squad or our competitors this summer.

My 'hopes for the new season' are that we finish top four and nothing else.

However, its defo worth asking the question of expectations a day before the season actually starts by which time we will have sold gerrard, torres and mascherano.

In which case my answer would be top half.

Not overly concerned by the cups this season, I know the club exists to win silverwear but, we HAVE to get 4th or higher in the league next season.
I believe Stevie and Fernando will stay of 1 more season and only leave next year if we have no CL football.
No CL football for the 2011-2012 season will mean no Gerrard / Torres / Mascher, and maybe a few others, and no money or lure of CL to attract top quality replacements.
This coming season could well be the biggest in the clubs (recent) history!

Yeah I know it's still too early but the question was asked, based on the points I initially stated regarding Torrard, owners and finance.

As has been said, this could be one of the most important seasons in the clubs history.

If we disregard the UEFA cup we can win the league with the resources that are available.

This is a pivotal close season for the club - it could all go very pear shaped from here on in.

We're very highly geared. If revenue starts to drop off we'll be proper ****ed (like, 1 division ****ed)

After what's happened recently it's not about what happens on the pitch anymore all I want in the next season is rid of those two parasites. Then the club can move forwards rather than back.
