I think part of the problem is that England think they are a lot better than they actually are.Originally posted by TheElephantMan View PostNot convinced by Capello, he clearly isn't getting the best from the England players. Would love to have a manager who throws caution to the wind in games against lesser teams. We'd come unstuck sometimes, but with another couple of creative players in the side we would batter most teams.

If Roy were to think there was a chance of our job or the England job which do you think he would prefer? I have to say I think he would plump for the England job given the fact he has enjoyed international management before and that our finances are in a bit of a state.
That said I think we have a decent chance of progressing through the group in the World Cup and teams tend only to gel after that stage in international tournaments. So Capello may yet be safe in his job."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

It stinks to high heaven of lack of ambition and that to me should never be associated with Liverpool football clubOriginally posted by dww View PostI wouldn't see it as a disaster of an appointment at all. It lacks ambition but Roy is a solid manager and would be a safe pair of hands. He is far from my first choice though.

The best comparison with Barcelona is that both Guardiola and Dalglish inherited teams that had recently been European champions and so their teams were hardly struggling and were excellent candidates to win their respective leagues, more or less regardless of who the manager was.Originally posted by kris90210 View PostIf there's a comparison with Newcastle then there's a comparison with Barcelona. It's lazy and sensationalist
