So who do we play tomorrow -v-Reading?

Amazingly we are in the same **** position we were last season. We had just lost 2-0 to Fulham, been ****ed over by the Chavs and had a poxy League Cup game against Palace. We played a strong team and lost.

Should Rafa put out a strong team and let them really go at Reading? Or should we stick to a mix of kids and reserves?

Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez says he will field a strong side on Wednesday as the club seeks to continue its great tradition in the League Cup.
The game against Reading comes in a period when the Reds are playing two games every week.

But although some senior players may be rested, Rafa insists he'll select an eleven capable of progressing to the next round.

"I think we need to think about every competition as an option and a target," said the Spaniard.

"The Carling Cup is a good competition for us. We were in the final two years ago and we want to win for sure.

"Youngsters can be an option but we have some senior players that are not playing a lot of games and we will see if they can be involved. Our idea is to use a very strong team if it's possible."

A mix of youngsters and experienced players. If Alvin MArtin's son is fit, I think he should play in goal, as he'll be on the bench for us in the coming weeks with Dudek being suspended. Would also like to Anderson given a run out, and possibly some of the youngsters who played in pre-season. Palletta should definitely play too.

Dudek --- I know it would be good to give martin a go, but realistically we probably wont need to call on him in Dudek's absence so it doesn't matter.

Peltier --- No real obvious replacement for Finnan but I think he needs a rest
Hyypia --- Should play, and then Agger should take his spot at wkend
Paletta ---- Should be ready for a game by now
Warnock --- Hasn't a look in this season

Anderson --- Give him a chance in the first team
Gerrard ---- Try and let him score a goal for his confidence
Alonso --- need him to sit and hold to allow Gerrard to roam
Aurelio ---- Good option on left wing, could do with some games

Fowler ---- Should definitely play and will be raring to go
Lindfield --- played well with fowler in pre-season, but i imagine Crouch to play.
