Did Gerrard tell Roy he wants to play back in midfield?I thought he enjoyed the advanced roll playing behind Torres.

At the same time he wasn't being hung, drawn and quartered already mate, you know.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostYeah well some of us disagree.
I think we'd be much better off keeping Insua as back-up and saving the money previously earmarked for dross English full-backs in their 30s and put it towards other signings. The season starts in less than two weeks and disruption should be kept to a minimum IMO.
Some of us just think Insua is garbage and want him sold, im one of them.
Would love us to sign Figeroa and we'll still have Aurelio as an option. Sorted.

You know who i meanOriginally posted by Shaggy View PostYay Figueroa, I believe it's between us and Stoke.

In all seriousness I'd prefer Insua stayed, but if he goes Figueroa - although I don't think he's that good - is the best of a bad bunch linked thus far to replace him.
And yes i agree

i think figueroa would be a better option for next 2 seasons, Insua has still a lot to learn and would prefer him to learn elsewhere!Originally posted by Shaggy View PostYay Figueroa, I believe it's between us and Stoke.

i don't know about gerrard in midfield tbh, if we're going to play some sort of possesion football he needs to be more patient on the ball, and not rush with the "spectacular but row Z bound" 40 yard pass. keep it simple, and on the groud, move the ball around and try to find an opening. he seems to rush things to often and we just concede possesion.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostBoring game, but I guess we are now seeing where roy will be looking to play people.
Gerrard looks nailed on for CM, whilst Aquilani and Cole battle for the behind the striker role.
Gerrard will no doubt be joined in CM by one of Lucas or the new signing.
Jovanovic will be plauing on the left, I guess Babel will join him on that side and it leaves Maxi and Dirk for the RM.Jürgen Klopp

Agree. As legendary a player Gerrard is, I think - for example - he'd be horribly out of place in the Spain or Barca teams.Originally posted by SlovenianKopite View Posti don't know about gerrard in midfield tbh, if we're going to play some sort of possesion football he needs to be more patient on the ball, and not rush with the "spectacular but row Z bound" 40 yard pass. keep it simple, and on the groud, move the ball around and try to find an opening. he seems to rush things to often and we just concede possesion. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Joe Cole after the game..
It was a good work out for the young players, to experience playing in front of such a full stadium.
And it was good fitness for myself as well.
It was actually a tough one, because I’ve had some weeks off and played 65 minutes here. It was good fitness.”
“It was a tough but also a lovely game.
I enjoyed it very much. To hear the fans singing “ YNWA” was amazing.
It certainly will be even more amazing to hear the Liverpool fans singing the song on Thursday at Anfield, and I’m really looking forward to it.”
I enjoyed watching the young lads playing.
We certainly have talents in the team, those are good lads and today they have had the opportunity to play for a couple of minutes and to show that.
It was great to finally play next to Stevie in a red Liverpool shirt and I’m looking forward to play alongside Fernando Torres.”
It was my debut in the red shirt, but on Thursday there is going to be the “real” debut at Anfield and I’m looking forward to it”.

I had to turn it down it was SO bad.....absolutely diabolical it was.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostThank ****. I was out and recorded it on LFC TV and watched it just now. Those Setanta commentators are diabolical - their commentary on the Rabotnicki game was singularly the worst I've ever heard.'Religion is killing each other over who has the best imaginary friend'
