So, what of Aquilani?

So you havent noticed the effect Kenny has had on the majority of players. IMO Aquilani would most definately play better. He is more suited to Kenny's style of football than Rafa'sOriginally posted by Kenneth View Postdoubt it.
I would suggest that he is ok in Italy because of the tedious pace of most games. I don't see why Kenny being manager would make him thrive more than Rafa.

Sure, he may be more suited to a pass and move style, but I still don't think he'd thrive. I still think he would struggle with the pace and physical nature of the PL. Obviously all hypothetical.
And his eyes are too close together.Last edited by Kenneth; 16-02-11, 05:52 PM.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

FFS, you're being overly simplistic here. He's shown in glimpses that he could thrive in the PL but his main problem was that he wasn't fit, nothing to do with him [danperkins_flawed_logic]being too slow to pick a pass or he's more suited to a slower league bollocks.[/danperkins_flawed_logic]Originally posted by Kenneth View Postdoubt it.

I'm with the flawed logic point-of-view: the EPL suits some people, but not others and for Aqua it is the latter.Originally posted by NigelLG View PostFFS, you're being overly simplistic here. He showed glimpses that he was a half decent player, which you'd expect for a 20m player. You have no idea whether it was fitness or style/suitability as his lack of fitness would prevent you judging, so don't spout **** about logic as if you are basing your criticism on anything other than you're own opinion, as with myself. Having seen him in Italy this season, he's done nothing spectacular except stroke the ball around while under little pressure.Originally posted by NigelLG View PostFFS, you're being overly simplistic here. I think he could suit the more dynamic pass and move style football we're playing under Kenny. If they don't want to pay the agreed price I'd be happy if he came back, I thought he showed promise last year. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

A good player finds time on the ball and he's showed that he could do that while he was here, it's not based on assumption. He hasn't shown it consistently enough because of his fitness issues. Maybe if he'd stayed here this season instead of being flogged off to Italy we would have known for certain if he would cut it long term.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostHe showed glimpses that he was a half decent player, which you'd expect for a 20m player. Keep Poulsen or sell him for a pack of crisps then spend money for a good central midfielder?Originally posted by danperkins View PostWouldn't want Aqua back, much better suited to Serie A IMO, if we can get decent money for him, take it and run. We do not need him. Take the money and spend it on a position that does need addressing i.e Winger/CB/LB etc
Danperkins school of thought.

Are we winning?
