    Juve expect Aquilani talks

    Juventus boss Giuseppe Marotta fully expects to make the loan signing of Alberto Aquilani permanent in the summer.

    The Italian is on loan from Liverpool, where he made a £20million move from Roma in 2009, and has rediscovered his form since returning to his homeland.

    Aquilani has previously stated his desire to remain with the Turin giants and that now appears likely as Marotta plans a meeting with the Reds in the near future.

    "Aquilani is a player of value and is doing very well, we're happy," said Marotta.

    "He has to feel comfortable because the fact that we took him on loan didn't mean that we had to evaluate him.

    "His qualities have been known since he played in the youth of Roma and in the national team.

    "In due time we'll meet with Liverpool and we will do everything to keep him with us."

    Captain
    With doubts surrounding the future of club legend Alessandro Del Piero, whose contract expires this summer, Marotta has calmed fears the veteran could leave.

    "The doors at Juventus are open for Del Piero," Marotta said of a possible contract renewal.

    "Alex is a great professional, our captain, and has given so much to Juve. We are discussing the economic aspects but we are making progress and we are optimistic.

    "Del Piero is not out of shape, in addition to the technical qualities he also possesses human and professional qualities."

      If Juve don't want to pay a bit more money for him, we should just sell him to one of their rivals, providing that he never wants to play in England again.

        If that's the case pay up and stop messing us about

          I wish lazy British journos would get the facts right with regards to Aquilani (as well as others). Firstly he cost 17 million pounds & NOT 20 million. Secondly we have only actually paid 5 to 7 million odd for him where the rest was gonna paid in instalments upon appearances, etc which if we were to sell him to Juve wouldn't have to pay. So all this horse **** saying we stand to lose 17 million pounds is exactly that - utter HORSE ****!!!
          Thanks for the memories Rafa - YNWA!

            Roma broke that transfer down & from I remember there was alot more then just 5-7m. Yes it was broken into instalments but it was not based on appearances.

            I think it was at least 16m.

                Think that's right Drago.....there were certain milestones of payments based around dates rather than appearances, which if true means we're in lumber for what we agreed to. Either the full amount or 15m+, whatever...........if that's the case, that money is money out the door regardless of whether we've handed it to Roma or not by now.
                Any dealings we have with Juve have to keep that mind.

                  as far as i can recall including wages of nearly £4.5 million a year it worked out that totaled we paid £19.4 million ish for Aqua including wages in his time at LFC, can't quite remember but i don' t think it was based on appearances, just set installment dates. His contract was messy and complicated.

                  Ans as others have said if Juve don't wanna pay, sure we'll find other clubs that will

                    I'm pretty sure the £20m figure came about because of those add on that wont happen. Things like winning the league, CL, making 100's of appearances etc.

                    But around 16m has to be paid over a set of amount of time. Whether we sell him or not wont affect us still owing Roma money.

                      I think Craig posted a breakdown of total cost sometime ago and 16m seems very likely.

                        This is what I've seen posted alot:
                        Four cash installments:

                        * €5m upfront
                        * €3m by 4th January 2010
                        * €7m by June 30th 2010
                        * €5m by June 30th 2011.

                        Base transfer fee = €20m

                        Further Add ons include:
                        * €300k for every year Liverpool qualify for the CL from 2010/11 to 2014/15.
                        * €250k every time the player reaches 35 appearancs; 70 appearances; 105 appeances and then 140 appearances.
                        * €1m the first time Liverpool either wins the Premier League or Champions League by 30 June 2014.
                        * 5% of any future transfer fee paid to Roma.
                        So 20m euros will be what we have to pay in total (~£16.8m at current exchange rate) + 5% of the fee we sell for

                            God........leaving aside the whole debate around taking him back for a proper season or ****ing him off, the figures mentioned and his impact on Liverpool to date make me queasy. They really do.
                            Again, not a debate about why its happened to this point, just the black and white of it all.

                              I'd have him back rather than Juve scabbing him at £7m. He is a quality player in fairness, if not a bit weak on the ball... but Miereles is a bit weak on the ball too and he's been class in the last few weeks! Kenny could make a proper player out of Aqua.

                              I'm so excited. And I just cant hide it. I'm about to loose control and I think I like it.

                                I'd say raul is fine on the ball, it's winning it back that's his problem.
