You are contradicting yourself here.Originally posted by Arn View PostThe players we signed after appointed Purslow and until FSG bought the club. Nine of them bought by Purslow without Rafa or any other manager having any say on it.

Take you pick. I don't have a clue which nine players. If Rafa didn't lie then Purslow signed nine of the above players because he wanted them and didn't care a bit what the manager wanted.
There is absolutely no shred of evidence that Purslow made any purchases while Rafa was in charge.
You cannot use some Rafa's quotes and turn, twist and take them out of context to support your conspiracy theory.
Not a big fan of Purslow myself but knowing Rafa he would have been very public if that really took place.
In reality, Johnson, Aquilani, Kyrgiakos, Ayala, Maxi, Shelvey, Wilson and Aurelio were all Rafa's picks for better or worse whether you agree or not.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Arn just because Purslow picked the new club doctor (a highly respected one at that) and the physio staff changed doesn't mean any of them lied or gave incorrect diagnoses about injuries.
That would be gross misconduct, get them sacked and finish their careers, now don't get me wrong Purslow is a ****ing grade A cunt but lets leave facts at facts and not twist it into stupid claims.
Not sure what your views are on Gerrard always being pally with Purslow though..............................

When did the new sports science guys actually arrive at the club? Last season the new arrivals might well be the guys from Newcastle. Which certainly seemed like an odd move at the time.
The rumour about the physios giving Rafa incorrect advice is not Arns to be fair to him. It has been doing the rounds. Can't remember the original source though."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

I think that rumour originates from the medical team being put under pressure to rush Torres back to try and help us finish 4th.Originally posted by dww View PostWhen did the new sports science guys actually arrive at the club? I thought it was the summer.

I'm sure there was something printed about Torres blaming being rushed back on him having recurring injuries and consequently ruining his WCThe King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

KENNY DALGLISH has opened the door for Alberto Aquilani to return to Liverpool this summer, insisting the midfielder could still have a key role to play at Anfield.
The Italian international has spent the season on loan at Juventus, who are keen to make the move permanent.
However, the Serie A outfit aren’t willing to pay 16million euros (£14million), which was the purchase option they negotiated with the Reds last August.
Unless a deal is struck, Aquilani will return to Melwood for pre-season training – and Dalglish says the 26-year-old would be welcomed.
“When people talk about next season, I’m surprised they don’t give Alberto a mention,” he said. “Everyone seems to have forgotten about him.
“I know he has done really well at Juventus this season. When the loan finishes at the end of the season, he reverts back to being a Liverpool player.
“Nothing is cast in stone and he could be coming back to play for Liverpool. He could be a valuable asset here next season. He’s still our player.”
Aquilani was bought by Rafa Benitez from Roma for £17.1million in August 2009 as a replacement for Xabi Alonso and signed a five-year deal.
However, a serious ankle injury meant it was late October before he played.
He struggled with the physical demands of the Premier League and fitness problems limited him to 13 starts and 13 substitute appearances.
Aquilani played in both legs of the Europa League qualifier against FK Rabotnicki at the start of this season but it was no surprise when he was off-loaded to Juventus.
Dalglish has been impressed by the form Aquilani has shown in 29 league appearances for Juve this season, which have earned him a recall to the Italy side.
“He certainly didn’t have the best of luck last season,” Dalglish added.
“At times he did really well and at other times he didn’t do quite so well but you can say that about most players. What I do know is that he’s had a fantastic season at Juventus.”
