    Nathan Eccleston

What are peoples opinions on him?? I have to say I haven't seen lots of him. I know he's highly regarded do you think he will break through? I mean he's going to need more than 3 mins though to show what he can do, I think he has played 4 times and playing time he prob has played less than 10 mins. Is he going to get a chance??
I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

Are you watching Manchester United? Are you watching Chelsea? This is Liverpool F.C taking over the bloody world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He will be a top Championship Striker, but nothing else i fear. Ive seen a few reserve games with him, and he seems to go missing for large parts of the game sometimes. Then on occasions shows flashes of brilliance.

I hope im wrong though and he is the next Robbie Fowler

No future IMO, he'll end up a League One striker I think. Be great if he proves me wrong though obviously.

Shaggy, how many players do you now have on your 'prove me wrong' list?

Ecclestone, like Nemeth, showed some good promise and I thought he'd be one to make it. But having seen him in senior games him (along with Tom Ince and Amoo) doesn't look like he has the x-factor needed to break through.

          Championship sounds about right.
          One tit for another.

My mate is a season ticket holder at Huddersfield Town.

When he spent a season on loan there, he couldn't break up their strike partnership, was used as an impact sub and got sent off. "Fast, but not remembered for much else" was a direct quote.

Get him talking about Martin Kelly though and him and the fans love him. Scored an absolute belter against Southend and reliable as ever, played as a LB.

So to answer the question, Eccleston won't make it here.

I'm surprised you're not counting or keeping a little list.

Ah right so you've changed your mind on him eh? He's on your 'prove me wrong list' now too is he?

I met a bunch of steaming Huddersfield fans on train on the first day of the season (I was coming home from Chesterfield v Barnet and they'd been at Notts County) - they were pretty disparaging about Eccleston, but Christ they raved and raved about Kelly. The consensus seemed to be one of the best young players they've seen at the club, and all seemed keen to keep an eye on his progress with us.

He's a decent player. Quick, skillful, can kick with either foot and he works hard. From the reserves, I've always felt that he would make a better winger. I think he definitely could make it, but at a different club who can offer him more game time.

On a side note, Adam Hammill is being linked with a move to 3 premiership teams: Blackpool, Bolton and can't remember the third. He's apparently been playing really well and has a buyout clause of £500,000 if a premiership team comes in for him. He was a player I was convinced would make it and it seems like he will probably will in the premiership. Maybe Eccleston will follow a similar path to him.

No offence to the lad but he's not going to make it with us, so whenever he comes on I think its wasting an opportunity for someone else who might make it. A bit like last season with El Zhar. Shelvey should have came on instead for us last night.

Hammill should ahve made it. I don't know why he didn't. Must be down to his charater IMO. Rafa can't have liked something about him.

That said, he could be another Stephen Warnock. I knew he was going to be a Premiership player, he just was never going to get the chance to prove it at LFC and so had to move on and make his progress that way.

Hammill was a mile better than El Zhar. What a shame it was El Zhar who always got a chance ahead of him. Madness.

In all fairness we can all have our opinions on players. But without seeing them day in, day out in training we can never be sure.

I remember when people were convinced Carra wouldn't make it. There are always going to be the ones who look destined to make it from an early age. And there are those who make it through hard graft.

Ecclestone could be someone who has a great spirit.

No wonder the transfer rumours about Hammill are in full flow.

Adam Hammill produced a masterclass on the wing as Barnsley came from behind to crush Leeds 5-2 at Oakwell.

The former Liverpool youngster had a hand in all five of the Tykes' goals as they overcame Jonathan Howson's early opener to run riot in front of a crowd of more than 20,000
The headline of the article is "Imperious Adam Hammill inspires as Barnsley run riot at Leeds"
