The players probably wanted a manager that play pass and move football and don't hoof the ball as long as you can Houllier style football. Just a feeling that this point is the key one. They wouldn't have cared who that manager is as long as he play positive attacking football.

I doubt very much that some of our key players still have confidence in the style Roy is trying the team to play. Do they really believe in his methods? I doubt that very much.

They players look bored out there. No smilies just like they want to get the match out of the way and don't care that much about the result.

Our youth team players that play an attacking style football look much more happy than our senior players. They are playing the style they want to play week in week out. They go to "work" every day knowing that they will improve.

Do our senior players do that. Do they really think that Roy will improve them and make them better players? As I said before. I doubt that very much.

I doubt that Agger is alone in being unhappy with Roy's style of play. The players wanted a positive thinking manager after Rafa IMO and ended up with Roy.

There is no proof at all out there that Roy can build a team, no proof at all. There is no proof out there that Roy can make the team play attacking style football week in week out. The clubs/countries he taken care of was clubs that he could get away with playing defensive style football.

He won't get away with that as manager of Liverpool FC. Either he change his style to a more attacking one or he will be sacked IMO. He won't have a choice.

I can't see many mistakes given the mess he inherited and the limited support he got, financially, during his reign.

Sometimes you wonder why he was sacked.
Because unfortuantely in this world for some; the grass will always be greener on the other side, but life tells us that's not the case, utd fans wanted the same fate for Fergie as some wanted for Rafa at about the same time in their respective tenures, pity we had'nt just stuck eh, one disastrous season...even though it was in part due to the backdrop it was played under...the clubs turmoil..a board at war, making a profit selling players season in season out, all that was forgotton...it was just Rafa's fault they said, but how wrong they were. imo.

Yeah, and my answers were in order in accordance with the questions. So he asked me about Babel first, which I answered first.

            Who?

            Spearing, who was hardly involved?

Pacheco, who he thought wasn't yet ready?

Babel, who was hardly involved, and who he tried to sell on numerous occasions and couldn't, maybe because our board is so adept at making profits on players?

Kyriagos, who was played 20 minutes upfront?

Agger, who is now a reserve team regular?

Brad Jones, who was just bought for £2m?

Ngog, who is currently our top scorer?

Jovanovich, who scored last night, but was brought in because he was a free transfer?

The most obvious mistakes aren't the players. It's the way the team shapes out. It's deep, it's defensive and it's one-dimensional. Then, the manager doesn't seem to react during matches, he just seem clueless when the chips are down.

I would give Roy a bit more time but he was drafted in to 'steady the ship'. All I'm seeing now is a sinking one.

Having slept on this result I am feel I'm in a position to judge it in a calm manner, and I still wan't Roy out.
              • In the build up against Man Utd. he practically gave up before hand.
              • He is looking like a terrible man manager.
              • He introduces subs in the dying moments.
              • I think he is moving our defensive line way too back.
              • He is changing from zonal.
              • Playing Skrtel before Agger.
              • Results are poor - he was supposedly hired because he would not need as much time to adjust.
              • Buying Konchcesky and Jones. Insua was at least offering a threat forward and he will improve.

I think things won't change no matter how much time we give him, sometimes it's best to cut your losses and wait for a new hand. Don't believe I'm saying this, but at least Martin O'Neils teams have some direction and passion. Wish we'd have gone for Dalglish or Pellegrino.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but this was the season we honestly needed continuity give the off field situation at the club. Getting rid of Rafa was the biggest mistake the club made this Summer and Roy was always on a hiding to nothing.

Roy is a decent and nice man but he just is not cut from the cloth required to be a Liverpool Manager. I hope for all our sakes that the players can find some inspiration from somewhere and put in a decent performance that may lift the mood around the club. Utterly depressing time and it takes me right back to the lowest points under Souness.

IMO he is failing at all the remotely major hurdles, and he'll probably manage to piss off the entire squad before the end of the month.

Given his previous links with Inter and his relationship with Morratti, how about we swap Rafa and Hodgson?

I hate criticising a manager, especially ours. I think we should still give Roy a chance to rectify things. I don't like the things I'm seeing but call for his head are premature but at the same time, we're not far off a relegation place in the league, we've just being dumped out of a cup competition by a poor team.

If the club was to go into Administration today, we'd be bottom of the league with -4 points, taking into account the 9 points deduction. Who would bet on us getting out of this rut? Being brutally honest, I don't think I would.
