My point was always two things

No point in replacing a manager if you cant find anyone better

Also that no manager would work as well as Rafa did under the conditions currently at our club

But no, we were assured that the flaws in the side were down to Rafa and that a new man would get the best out of an underperforming squad
Personally speaking I did want Rafa out, but only at the end of the season after he had been given time. He had earned that time from past success. My main reason for wanting him out was not purely down to results, also the constant mouthing off that didn't help the club.

I did not want Roy in. I thought there were far better candidates out there.

However, I am convinced we would finish top 6 at the minimum even under Hodgson and even after that rubbish last night. But then, I also think we would have made top 6 minimum with Rafa still in charge. I think last season was just a freak result compounded by many factors.

We must be the most unhappiest club from top to bottom..left to right

I'm still adamant we have a very good squad and a very good starting 11 to choose from.

However using players in a system that does not work, we may as play them out of position

It's only natural that fans vent their anger in times of frustration.

For the record Im one of those people who wanted Rafa out last season and I was fairly vocal about it. I stand by that still, Rafa wasn't going to turn it around, the team were not playing for him and his decision-making was ridiculous. He had to go and we were right to move him on. I didn't want Hodgson and Iv not been impressed yet but I think the slide would have continued under Rafa for sure.

As I have already said, Hodgson is not solely to blame for last night. The difference is that he has only been in charge for a handful of games wheras Rafa lost about 20 matches last season and left us with a **** squad. Hodgson gave players a chance and they didn't perform. He gave Rafa's fringe players a chance and they didn't perform.

Am I embarrassed about last night? YES. But do I give a **** about the carling cup? No.

I do believe that we will start winning matches. 11 changes on saturday and our first team will be back. The next 5 league games are all winnable, and I believe we will win 4 or 5 of them. If we don't then and only then will I panic and start slitting my wrists like the rest of this forum

lec posted a great article from elsewhere with many reasons why hodgson was to blame.

Although i posted after scum about those 5 games....and thats it for me. Re-assess after 10games.

panic a little now, but Roy needs our support and sure he willg et it on saturday

All good points but you also spent a lot of last season with your signature suggesting Matthew Etherington was the answer.

The Man City away game was terrible. They're not even that good at the moment but they totally destroyed us. Can't remember looking so pathetic in a single game....ever (maybe Valencia and Barcelona under Houllier).

We beat West Brom at home 1-0 thanks to Torres. Yes, Torres has been the saviour on numerous occasions but I never remember it being as desperate as West Brom at home. Birmingham away was atrocious, Man U was appalling and last night...

                      It really doesn't bode well.

OK point number 1 is that the Manager is 100% to blame for the result last night because he picked the team and chose the tactics, he isn't to blame for the performance because he didn't phisically play but the performance is the end product of the team and tactics combined.

Point number 2 is that I didn't receive a single text gloating about us being knocked out, not 1.
Didn't get any after Sundays defeat either and that shows that my mates or just idiots who have my number don't even see any sport in taking the piss out of me any more - we really have sunk that low.

Point number 3 is show Jay Spearing the exit door, Roy bigging him up before the game ffs give me a break.

Kelly, Wilson, Pacheco and Ngog are all excused for me because they are all young and talented and deserve a chance over a long period of time.

Babel, Spearing and Kyriakos shouldn't play another game because Babel is just a waste of oxygen and god given physique and talent, Spearing is garbage and would have been let go years ago if he wasn't a scouser and Kyriakos while whole hearted is stopping lads like Wilson and Ayala progressing and gaining more experience.

I'm afraid I have to agree I wasn't anti Hodgson but I was pro Rafa and didn't want him to go, mainly because I knew we would down grade.

The only game we haven't been wholley embarrassing this season has been Arsenal at home the rest has been clueless.

At least any side Rafa sent out was tactically sound and we were difficult to beat - we may not have agreed with the tactics but they were there for everyone to see.

This season we have been tactically inept and naive and there has been no more enthusiasm shown by the players with the much herelded 'British' manager

Hence why I added the idiots who have my number bit

Trust me in previous occassions I've received dozens of texts and facebook abuse.

We are that bad fans from other teams don't get any satisfaction from taking the piss.

                                We have turned into Newcastle
