Isn't Stevie Nicol at New England? Might they look to him given the geographic and sporting links?

Oh god no. I heard on of the Aston Villa coaches on the radio last week saying how impressed everyone is with Houllier as he wants them to get the ball on the deck and play attacking football, which is a big change from the previous regieme.Originally posted by spud_gun View PostO'Neil
If Houllier plays better football than O'Neil....well, that would say it all for me.
Anyway, I do feel we're getting ahead of ourselves just a touch here. I very much doubt new owners would sack a manager straight off no matter what, didn't happen at Citeh or Chelsea despite their endless funds. Even IF this does happen, which is by no means certain yet, we'll have to tolerate Roy's regieme for atleast the short term I think.I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
Mine angry and defrauded young?

They can't splash the cash if you look at how much money they have so the obvious conclusion is that they will get in someone with a good track record bringing through young players.

I still can't believe how much I can dislike cheerful Uncle Roy. I thought it would be impossible for me to feel this way prior to having him here regardless of what he did. Now the sight of him hurts my eyes.Originally posted by Pablo1981 View PostYep, no hard feelings. He was a fairly likeable man until the pressure soon started to tell on him. Hopefully he'll find another club at his level and we will get the manager we deserve again.
Dare I dream of......
Rafa!
When you say "his level" are you implying Malmo, Copenhagen, the Finnish NT etc where his tactics work and always will work?
He must be feeling like ****, like when you get really drunk, you shag or at very least kiss a girl, then you organise to take them on a date a week later. You spend the whole week thinking about all of the lies you told them, but can't for the life of you remember what they look like. Spending the next week with a little bit inside of you cringing and praying that she's not a *****r.

Just had a chat to a mate who's a red sox fan and apparently the coach they brought in who ended their 86 year wait for the title was only about 30 at the time.Originally posted by NigelLG View PostSeriously, I don't think he'll come back, not now anyway and certainly not with the current board. But I'm sure, if the new owners were willing to take listen to us fans, I'm sure a good majority would love to see him back.
But, an up and coming young manager, like Deschamps, Pellegrini (is he that young though?), Guardiola (if we could entice him away from Barca) would be great.
Doesn't look like they have a problem with young managers, but its a different game of course.
