Do you watch much of Portugal? they play a 3 man midfield and he plays the box-to-box role for them with a defensive mid and a player further up. In our team that would be the Alonso role unless you are happy with him playing in the DM spot. If we can't get an alonso-esque player i think we should try and get 2 box to box players, like banega and meireles.
