If we were to play this way for the rest of the season, would people give Roy a stay of execution?
IF he didn't talk **** all the time then on the basis of today's performance (so far) you could argue he needs more time.

However, this is a weak Blackburn side, who have been dire. And its still 0-0.

      No.

A decent team, or a well managed team would still cause us problems.

The fact Sam Allardyce is clueless is helping us look like world beaters.

I certainly wouldn't call it a great performance, decent is closer to the mark. We've been helped no end by Blackburn sitting off us using Roy's preferred system of not bothering to play and hoping to scrape away with a 0-0.

I still expect a lot more than this from a Liverpool side, a collection of half chances.

If Roy gets us playing good football and winning games week in week out then of course. Nothing we've seen so far apart from one half (so far) today suggests he can do that though...let's see whether we actually manage to go on and win this one for starters.

Yep. Even if we win with a good performance, he'll say some drips things after the match and undo any positives.

C'mon he's been horrendous. He almost had a mix up with Skrtel in the box which almost then gave them a chance. He almost breaks down all of our attacks individually on the left with his shocker of a first touch. And, for someone who has such a hard time cutting out crosses, his crosses have an alarming high rate of blocks by oppositions.

Don't want to start a debate because he hasn't been bad, but I do fail to see what Meiereles adds to us.

All said, this is the first game we've played well and our players haven't looked disillusioned in god knows how long.

First half felt like a swan song. We suddenly pressed the other team in their own half, something I haven't seen us do this season, but most of our chances came from set pieces.

I hope Hodgson now realises that by defending a higher line and pressing all over the pitch, especially in the opponents half, we stand a better chance of taking advantage of any individual mistakes made by our opposition. One or two of our chances was down to pressing in Blackburns half and forcing one of their players into a mistake.

I still think we need to put things into perspective as Blackburn are doing the exact opposite to what we're doing, by sitting back and only really defending their 18 yard line. They are giving us far too much space and time.

So far, i would say that his performance is in spite of Roy rather than because of him. I wonder if the players have just decided to ignore his tactics.
