I think neither did. We were played of the park. Fantastic defending by the team though.

No he cant, because our CMs are so ****ing deep. Usain Bolt would struggle to get far enough up the park to help torres, the way Roy sets us up.

Not in the first half, we werent. We ****ing owned them.

2nd half and Roy tactics, different story. For all the 'off the park' play, they didnt create a great deal.

Gerrard has been excellent over last month. Just looking at Stokes team Shawcross/Huth/Collins & Jones all good in the air. Aerialbardmuch!!!??? Soto is great int he air, Skrtel..... well lets hope this 6ft 4 inch lad learns how to jump. Lot of draws today hopwe don't fall onto that category.... well that and losing

So, what do you say we do, put Meireles in place of Gerrard and move Gerrard behind Torres?

Doing that is too much of a risk imo.

A risk of what? Playing players in their most suited positions? Oooh yeah, danger danger...

When it's Meireles we're talking about it is danger. Stoke away isn't the ideal place for making such a change either.

What change?? It's where he plays.

Why is it danger to play an established and experienced international in his rightful position? I see no explanation of why it's danger, other than "it's Meireles". Makes no sense.

If i ever needed validation for this viewpoint, i need only take note of disagreement from you and danperkins

In one thread you're saying we should all Meireles time to adapt, in another you're saying he should be playing in centre mid at the expense of one of the best players who has 12 years experience in this league. All in a tricky away match at Stoke. Something doesn't add up there dude.

I'm saying he should be given time, because he's obviously not matching upto your high standards so far. Me personally, i say give every foreign player time to adjust (providing he isnt a walking disaster), but at the same time, i see little wrong with his performances in the context of our season.

It adds up plenty marky, gerrard forms a dangerous partnership with Torres, that nobody else seems able to do. Put him in CM and he'll be so far back with our setup, that he'll struggle to get with Torres, who'll then be outnumbered by defenders, isolated to the point of ineffectiveness and then get pissed off.
