What bigger 'excuse' is there than being comfortably beaten by Stoke?Originally posted by Lecter View PostI dont even think its that
They have made the decision already imo, they are just looking for the right excuse / opportunity to do it
When you say the decision - do you just mean to sack Roy, or do you mean about his replacement too?

Both

That's interesting - if they've already decided on sacking him and already decided on the replacement, what are they waiting for? Unless of course, it's now just about speaking to said replacement and seeing if he's available/interested etc, not to mention specifics on a contract, compensation etc.
Any ideas on who you think their chosen option might be? In your opinion, like.

Sorry no idea what stage they are at in terms of replacementOriginally posted by Craig_H View PostThat's interesting - if they've already decided on sacking him and already decided on the replacement, what are they waiting for? I have to say I am very interested in that Porto chappie
BUT feel the club wont get him until the summer at the earliestBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

If they have identified the man they want as you suggested you felt was the case, then it shouldnt be too long in terms of determining whether he would want to come, and then agreeing terms.
If we cant get a new man til the summer, then Kenny has to be given a caretaker role. We simply cannot afford to keep Hodgson all season. Disasterous outcome, that would be.
It's not a 'break' though, is it?Originally posted by banditos View PostAn interntaional break just before what should be an easy home game seems like an ideal time to sack a manager IMO.
Internationals are midweek, we have a game next saturday - so there isnt an actual break.

For me, I'd expect a new guy in place before Xmas - if there is going to be a replacement it makes no sense to give Roy money in the Jan window when whoever he looks to bring in may not fit the new guys thoughts.Originally posted by Lecter View PostSorry no idea what stage they are at in terms of replacement

Comolli is obviously going to have some say in signings but he'd still have to work hand in hand with the manager

Yes, but many players will be off on international duty and we aren't playing midweek, so lets call it a mini-break.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostIf they have identified the man they want as you suggested you felt was the case, then it shouldnt be too long in terms of determining whether he would want to come, and then agreeing terms.

I'm sure it will have been mentioned but I can't be bothered to trawl through this and the match thread looking for it so...
Did my eyes deceive me or was Fuller's successful shot a complete miskick? I've only seen the goal once since the game but it looked to me then like he was trying to kick with his left but made contact with his right accidentally before he swung his left.
When I caught the goal yesterday I wasn't paying much attention (for obvious reasons) but is that what happened?.
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.
