Football in its entirety has become a laughing stock and know only survives at the top level to pay people riches.

As the rest of the country face tough times, as those that go to the games have to make increasingly difficult financial decisions as wages decrease with inflation, the players we follow fight for wage increases far above inflation and are now closing in on £200,000 a week. They have no relationship whatsoever with the fan, none whatsoever, yet we continue to pay their obscene wages with no voice and play no part in any of the decision making.

Add to that the dross of football we've been dished up for the last couple of seasons, the lack of quality in depth, a manager who seems completely clueless and seems to have his foot constantly stuck in his mouth, and the what seems to be inevitable exit of the few quality players we have, I understand your pain.

If we're going to **** around in the top 10, then lets at least do it with a brand of football that excites us, a brand of football where we can hold our heads up high and brings the passion back. Thats not going to happen with Roy, not in a million years.

It will all be worth it in the end. Keep the faith and we will win a trophy before you know it

4th highest wage bill yet we can't beat the likes of Stoke, Wigan and Blackpool. No wonder people are pissed off. Be easy to point the blame at the players, but many of them have proved they are capable of a higher level, such as being Europes number one ranked club and the team everyone wanted to avoid in europes premier competition.

To go from that to Hodgsons football is very hard to take. The likes of Torres came to lfc because of how well we did in the CL and because we looked to be on the rise. The fall from grace is incredible.

Broken record time, but we will not progress until we get a new manager in.

Yep a massive wage bill but wages like 90k a week for Joe Cole, 70k a week for Maxi and 65ka week for Poulsen and 90k a week for Carra now, don't make any sense.

No, the wages don't make sense. That said, if we had a manager capable of getting the best out of his players those wages may make more sense.

Yep but in general we chose to buy players whose careers were on the down than on the up over the last 2-3yrs.

Hodgson did that - nobody else should take the blame!

Feel ****e about things, fine, but don't have a pop at people who think you need to chill out when you're implying you're sick of supporting us. Some of us ****ing well aren't. That alright?
No need for the personal attack Red Polo, you should know better for starters being a mod.

As for me being a moaning ****house you can ****ing do one. I'm moaning because I'm sick to ****ing death of the **** football we're being subjected to, am I not allowed to voice an opinion on that no?

And where have I stated that I'm a superfan? Don't talk rubbish FFS. I ****ing love this club as we all do, that doesn't make me a superfan. This club is my life and seeing it's demise is making unhappy.
Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

I'm not a mod fella. I think it's pretty obvious what I'm getting at with that comment. Have a little melodramatic conniption, fair enough, times like this we all want to now and then, and most of what you say is very true. But when you go telling people they're 'clearly not bothered about our demise' just because they tell you to chill, you're playing the superfan card. My language might have been a lot more pointed, but telling people they clearly don't give a **** about their team probably isn't all that fair or necessary either, is it?

I think most of us are frustrated and it comes out different ways. Most people take it out on Roy or Poulsen in the respective threads, especially the Roy one and others perhaps need a thread that is broader than that.

But we are in a bloody mess. I told myself a few weeks ago that I would just **** all the backroom stuff, managerial bitching, finances, speculations etc. and just focus on the football and enjoy the game for what it's really all about. But it is close to impossible to enjoy any on-pitch action at the moment, when we are playing without any inspiration what so ever.

Many things are wrong right now, and hopefully they will be put right as soon as the new owners starts settling and find their footing. We clearly need a new manager, and we need quite an overhaul of the squad. I'm close to thinking that just about 5 players are def. worth keeping right now.

Sometimes I think about that. I assume you are talking about the whole ignorance is bliss thing? Going back to the days when all you did was watch the game without reading so much into the back room and all?

Yes more or less exactly that. I know it's different days now, but I can't help thinking back to the time when I just watched games and enjoyed football for just that. Watching Liverpool for the game only and of course having an opinion on the players and manager, but without all the internal bitching amongst fans and the whole speculation about owners, financial situation, sponsers, who says what, did some player go do this or that etc. etc.

I'm very frustrated at the whole game right now and tbh. I get more joy out of watching barca vs villarreal these days than watching the team I support. Something is def. wrong with that, and I can't help to think it's because, as you put it, am not in the ignorance is bliss zone any longer. It's probably because I can watch any other game for what it's really all about, the essence of the game, and i can't do that with Liverpool right now. Perhaps it's the internet that is killing the love of the game right now, twitter, rumours, 24h news channels reporting anything that's nothing etc.

                              long answer short - yes

I can relate to this so much! When I started becoming an out and out Liverpool fan I didn't know much about the club or the league. When I watched us beat the scum 2-1 and Babel scored that winner I thought it was a massive achievement because all I knew was Chelsea and United won everything. Now that I have learnt so much about the club I have come to expect so much more from us.

Also, posting on here and reading all the articles has made me scrutinise players so much just so I can be sure about their opinion of them.

Before this forum Lucas was just a young player who was still learning the game, then it turned into chalkboard and Mattsharks stats If a player was injured I didn't find out till match day and just took it in my stride.

Now I spend the whole week reading updates and hoping. Basically supporting the club becomes so much more stressful and requires so much more thought and analysis.

Its obsessive but I love the club and the sport too much, living and breathing it can be bad but its still so fun.
