Joe Cole will be back in a week or so, so hopefully a midfield of Maxi, Lucas, Raul and Cole after the Hammers game.

Aye, it's not great but there's Kuyt, Torres and N'gog...enough goal threats to see us through. I'm not overly confident tho(with the latest injury news).

        Could be a tense affair.

I see Joe Hart is going to be, unsurprisingly, fit for Man City's game!

Roy Hodgson admits he is frustrated and disappointed after Steven Gerrard sustained a hamstring injury on England duty this week - but the Liverpool manager believes it is time to draw a line under the episode.

Gerrard suffered a grade two hamstring tear during an 85-minute appearance in his country's 2-1 friendly defeat to France on Wednesday.

Asked for his thoughts on the injury and the subsequent fallout at his pre-match press conference, Hodgson said: "My thoughts on Steven Gerrard are that as Liverpool manager I'm frustrated and disappointed to lose such an important player for such a long period of time after a friendly game.

"Anything I say other than that I'm frustrated and even a little bit angry about it would be dishonest, but I know Steven is very anxious to put a tin lid on this matter.

"You (journalists) have had a couple of days now where you've been able to enjoy the headlines and the club versus country debate, but Steven, as a very important club player and very important player for his national team, is anxious that the tin lid is put on this.

"He's disappointed and sad too but he's going to do everything he can to get back to full fitness as quickly as possible.

"I don't want to discuss it anymore and I don't want an apology from anybody. I'm not prepared to add any fuel to the fire or add anything to the debate which has been raging.

"My main concern is with Liverpool Football Club, with the match tomorrow, and in particular with Steven Gerrard - and he's anxious that this matter is put behind him and everybody."

As timid and pathetic as ever. Our team certainly reflect his personality at the moment.

To be honest I don't see a lot wrong with it. There's not much point picking a fight about it.
                    .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Its a load of spineless ****e, he should be absolutely raging.

Instead he's ****e scared to criticise yet funnily enough doesnt have a problem doing it to Rafa, our own supporters or players. He's a cunt of a man.

I know you don't like him and neither do I.

But I can imagine other managers in our history saying much the same.

Well Neil, I don't think he needs to tread the line when everyone knows that England cocked up by playing Gerrard for far too long in a meaningless friendly. If it was a competitive affair, fair enough.

I don't know what's wrong to point fingers and 'pick up a fight', especially in this instance. Whilst it's certainly not something we'd like to see every week (LFC managers politicising stuff), it's an agreement that England/Capello ignored and as a result, should rightly be made to answer the case.
                          Are we winning?

Can't agree with that because apparently it was Gerrard decision to play on. Roy will never say anything to upset Gerrard or Carragher.

Gerrard only showed once again that it is the national team first and Liverpool second now.
