Aye the Club Doc was on LFC TV earlier confirming this.

Joe Cole is still a week away from returning. Possibly back for the Spurs game.

At least our chances of scoring have increased with Kuyt and Torres fit to start. We badly needed them to make it.

I just ignore him now. His agenda is so full of hate that even in a time of Roy bashing he is in the extreme.

I'm surprised he's not blaming Roy for Gerrard's injury, but then he's probably delighted because he wants Gerrard kicked out of the club.

You've risen to the bait. Here's how it pans out.

          1. The thread starts with a discussion about a player or a potential signing or a game twenty years ago or the price of milk.

          2. A certain poster blames it all on the Hodgson-Gerrard-Carra evil empire and says it would never have happened under the previous manager.

          3. The inference is so removed from logic that other posters jump on it and respond.

          4. Thread descends into a discussion on the previous manager and subsequently, farce, resulting in groundhog day.

I'm all for having a discussion about when Roy can be got rid of, but I really don't see the point of turning every single thread into the same argument rehashed. We all have our opinions about Rafa, it's been done to death. For the good of everyone concerned let's move on and discuss people who have a direct effect on the performances on the pitch.

            This is it.

            This is the time.

The time for Christian Poulsen to shine.

No doubt he has had a very tough start to his Liverpool career. But there is a chance that with one performance he can turn it all around. He can make his signing of £4.5m seem an absoloute bargain.

That's right. With one more performance of what he has churned out thus far, we could see a defeat and the end of the Bodgson.

Time to stand up and be counted Poulsen. Time to get the Bodgson the boot

Sounds like he is up for obliging.

'You haven't seen true me yet'

Christian Poulsen insists Liverpool fans have yet to see the best of him as he spoke of his determination to regain a place in Roy Hodgson's first team.

The Danish international has made 12 appearances for the Reds since his summer move from Juventus, but has not started a Barclays Premier League game since the 2-1 home defeat to Blackpool on October 3.

However, with Lucas Leiva suspended for this weekend's visit of West Ham, a position in Liverpool's midfield is up for grabs - and Poulsen is eager to grasp any opportunities that come his way.

"I knew that I was coming to a big, big club and that competition for places in the team would be very tough," he told LFC Weekly.

"There has been a lot of pressure because the start to the season hasn't been so good. But I am happy to be here. Everything is in place for me to try and get back into the team and make an impact on Liverpool's season."

He added: "When you change countries, it's very important that you settle quickly - not just you but your family as well.

"We moved into our new house recently - I have two kids and now they are enjoying school. That makes everything easier.

"I don't think the Liverpool fans have seen the true me yet. We have a new coach, new backroom staff, new players and now new owners. It has taken time for us to find ourselves as a team.

"I hope we can move further up in the table. I really want to play a big part in it."
              Modifying post.

Next you will probably say that Roy didn't had any other choice than to play Kuyt three games in around a week.

I only mentioned Rafa to show that he worked in a totally different way.

It is up to the manager to trust the youngsters enough in times like this so he don't need to play a player coming back from injury three full games in around a week.

The same manager then moans that the squad isn't big enough. I'm sorry but he had Ngog on the bench. Roy is a **** manager that talks so much **** that he can't find his way out of his own arse.

                      Ahhh, The Bodgson.

All I hear him moan about is lack of players up top. In fairness I completely agree.

However, this is where the similarity ends. I know this aint football manager. But how long did he know he needed a striker for? All pre season he had. He spent about £20m on Poulsen, Konchesky and Meireles and in fairness, neither has had a significant impact on our season thus far.

Don't get me wrong, I like Raul. But all he does is play him at right ****ing mid.

Surely Hodgson would have been best spending at least half that amount on either a RM or a striker in the summer. In all fairness he can not blame Rafa for the club not having a striker, he had long enough to get one in.

I look at the cash we spent and can't help but think of much better ways to spend it. Keep Insua and Aquilani = no need for Konchesky and Meireles, that's £16m saved straight away. £8m on Kenwyne Jones. **** off the signing of Poulsen and that leaves £12.5m. Could actually still sign Meireles if we felt the need, or we could actually have signed a RM or indeed another striker.

Probably wrong to blame it all on Bodgson, I'm sure Purslow had a role to play in all this, or maybe Eduardo Macia, guess we'll never know. But I hope to **** we start getting things right.

Looks like the work(s) of someone without a clue, leaving their mark on the transfer window.

As it turned out, it was more of a smear.

Yeah. Just annoying that we had another transfer window where are squad became worse.

How they compare so far IMO:

                          Insua>Konchesky
                          Aquilani-Meireles
                          Yossi>Cole
                          Riera>Jovanovic
                          Mascherano>Poulsen
                          Jones-Cavalieri

Pretty much six senior players in and six senior players out.

I have it as us going backwards in four instances. Jones and Cavalieri never really played that much so hard to make a judgement either way. Aqua was starting to come good, but I needed more time to see, Meireles has not really been given much opportunity at CM.

I think the rest speak for themselves. I don't rate either Insua or Konchesky tbh, but would have kept Insua as at least he can improve.

                          ----------------

I highly doubt we will have many players coming in over the next two windows without departures, we just have to try and make sure that every player that leaves is improved upon.

Agree. But this has been happening for the last five transfer windows. The slow erosion of buying spend, that has only been possible from sales. I think this has got to be seriously considered when assessing either manager's transfer records and what they have managed to do with them.

AND then you have to take a look at the youth we shipped out too. It was a fire sale last summer

Funnily enough I said exactly the same thing today, almost word for word how we've downgraded over the summer.

You could make a case for Cole and Benayoun, much of a muchness (although JC has been **** for us so far, but so has Yossi for Chelsea).

Depressing stuff, really depressing. Especially when we ended up out of pocket too.
