rafa said he hoped to have 2 in by the weekend.

i dont think the 2nd will be kuyt, i wonder will he go for klose or one of the italian based players

Nice spot Fagan. Personally I think Rafa will hit us with a surprise purchase.

      I love it

If we snag ourselves Kuyt or another striker then it's been a really brilliant transfer window for us. If we get Alves but no striker then that's great too. Both.....? Well...

Could Trezeguet still be on the cards?

hopefully kuyt but as you say he seems unlikely to be signed because of the price. if you look at the fact that we struggled to pay the

          Thanks Fagan.

          Looks like its Pennant then.

Not excited but relieved that this RW issue is out of the way.

Don't think Alves will sign for us now. Pity. Thought he was a real prospect.

Stole my thunder Fagan, I posted this in the other Pennant thread....

"Latest news filtering through is that....

PENNANT IS IN LIVERPOOL NOW AND IS ON THE BRINK OF SIGNING FOR 6.2M.

Yikes, I'm not sure about this one at all, smacks of transfer desperation as far as I'm concerned. I seriously hope Jermaine Pennant realises Rafa's given him a lifeline with this one, he doesn't really deserve this oportunity.

No second chances with us Pennant. None. At. All."

I doubt it will be Kuyt to be honest, purely because I dont think we've got 12m + to be playing around with.

Maybe Klose, or Trez on loan, or maybe even that young greek fella....

i think could would only cost 8-9M and alves about 10-11M

                  so were talking 20M really.

having said that we never pay all upfront, always in installments.

i think he may well go for alves and a player on loan lik trez or ibrahimovic

or just 1 striker being bought, either kuyt, trez or klose

                      P.S.

i'm not sold on pennant. he'll have to win me over but i'm not going to complain about it. he has undoubted quality and is used to the prem i just hope his personal troubles are well and truely behind him.

if he does well then i'd expect him to get in to the england squad ahead of SWP and lennon.

6.2m is far from being a bargain buy, hope he takes his chance and turns out to be a good player for us.

It seems as if Rafa has his work cut out trying to keep tabs on Bellamy and Pennant!! I can't see them being chosen to be room mates!

technically this isnt a pennant thread!

you know how much i hate duplicate threads

this is meant ot be about who's coming in next.

but re pennant, i think its a great signing, a bit pricey, but how many times have we all moaned about the club not paying over the odds for players when everyone else does.

we cant butter our bread on both sides.

if pennant is a hit then its a bargain.

now back to the topic..whos next?!!
