He seems to have declined a little bit over the past couple of years and I think it's probably right he goes. Good fee if true. I'll miss him though, he's one of us, a top bloke and been a really good player for us. I guess it's all about Sakho and Lovren now. Weird.

That much is true - nobody can spank a ball like Agger.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostNot these goals he won't - Back when he was awesome

Sakho could have probably had three of four last season; A bit more composure or a little less accuracy (he had a tendency to want to thump the air out of the ball with his forehead) and he'll soften the blow of losing Agger.

Was never a huge fan of Agger defensively but he does possess some great attributes. Injuries have really hampered his career & i don't think there's a magic wand that's going to suddenly stop that. A move to Barca for 15 million quid would be great business for LFC & a new start for Agger.
Less physical league where Barca have about 75 - 80% possession every game... suit him down to the ground.

Sadly thats probably all true, and if he were to go anywhere it wouldn't grate quite so much seeing him in a Barca shirt. He's not left room for any Barca tats though.Originally posted by danperkins View PostWas never a huge fan of Agger defensively but he does possess some great attributes. He seems like a good guy, i'm sure he'll be delighted to go to Barca as most would. Hopefully he can stay fit, lousy to see a player plagued by injuries.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostSadly thats probably all true, and if he were to go anywhere it wouldn't grate quite so much seeing him in a Barca shirt. And maybe there's some room we don't know about

i mean carrying the ball into midfield - Carragher and Neville covered it in MNF after the Chelsea game - you never see Sakho carry the ball into midfield when there's space to run into - he always looks for the pass.Originally posted by Muddled View PostSakho's more than capable of fizzing it in to midfield.
And If Sakho can calm himself on our set-piece delivery, he'll replace Agger's goals too.
Agger on the other hand carried the ball forcing the opposition to close him down and thus create space for his teammates

I think he suffered from not being first choice anymore, at the start under Hodgson and now under Rodgers. I think he will recapture much of his form if he get's to start regularly in Barcelona and I think the league will suit him better in term of playing style. Good move for all involved.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostHe seems to have declined a little bit over the past couple of years and I think it's probably right he goes. Good fee if true. But weird seeing him go as you say, top bloke and the second longest serving player and vice captain all of a sudden - even if it's been in the cards for some time.
It really is a new era now!

With Gerrard's new position, do you think we still require a defender bringing the ball out?
