Why have the likes of Vidic and Ferdinand never even been mentioned in terms of other clubs? Because United don't sell their best players. Everyone knows there's no chance. We are a soft touch.
They were. Vidic linked with Barca. Rooney on verge of City. Always around contract renewal time.

What time is it for Agger? Oh, contract renewal time. What a surprise.

Message quite clear to Agger. We like you, sign up or **** off though.
      Forwards.......

Rooney - yes. A big contract ruse. I don't think Agger's situation is comparable.

Vidic has never been close to joining any other club. "Linked" on dodgy websites and tabloids, maybe, but we all know that means "lies".

Needs the cash then, hopefully he's afforded the same sympathy Rafa gets on here when he was in a similar situation.

We've taken a new direction with a new manager so **** it, if Agger wants to go, or Rodgers wants to sell him, so be it. Same for any of the squad. We're all just guessing ay how things might work out and getting worked up bases on our relatively ignorant positions. There really is no point. None of the players are blameless for the position we're in (except Borini I guess) and that includes Agger, so screw them.

For me, the whole thing sounds like Hodgson talking about Torres, when he got hammered saying he's "a realist" and if any "big clubs came in for him like Manchester United..." etc You know what he said.

Not happy with the ambiguity. If he wants to get Liverpool fans onside, he should concentrate less on fannying about with love letters to them and say that nobody is for sale, especially when its someone who so openly stood by his principles almost to his own detriment during the ****ing Hodgson era.

Sounds like a case of having to sell to buy, Rafa had to do with Bellamy to get Torres. Its a shame really. I really had hoped for a little more capital investment in the playing side.
                    *Except Michael, who died.

Shame on you FSG. Extreme reaction? Maybe, but an honest one.

So getting Kuyt, Maxi, Aquilani etc has freed up funds for Luis to sign a new deal. Surely there must be enough there to keep Agger as well?

and if he does go for 20Mill+ does that mean every penny will be reinvested back into the club, for new players?

That's not enterily true though is it, I mean they sold Ronaldo the worlds second best player right now, they sold Beckham when he was on top, Jaap Staam to name a defender or Pique to name another and Van Horseface as another example.

United sell plenty of their best players, almost exclusively to Real, but they are just good at replacing them. I think if anything, united have shown that no player is bigger than the club really.

If we're selling to buy already, from a very weak starting position, we're already diluting a squad that wasn't fit for purpose.

I'm guessing the managerial change has massively affected the transfer budget. Seems a bit harsh and self defeating to immediately limit their own man with no cash to improve.

Another Aston Villa season then, ****s sake.

They could though, they were in a strong starting position and were able to attract players of a similair standard to come in

You're also forgetting that the old **** had fallen out with Beckham and Stam, Ronaldo was sold to service debt, Pique wanted to leave to get first team games and Van Nistelrooy didn't fit in with how he saw the team going forward.
