Roy Hodgson will welcome back his first-choice players having left eight at home for the Europa League draw with Steaua Bucharest.
Steven Gerrard is at least another week away from returning from a hamstring injury he picked up on England duty last month, There is no set date for defender Daniel Agger's return.
Aston Villa winger Ashley Young collected his fifth booking of the campaign during the Carling Cup semi-final defeat against Birmingham in midweek and will have to serve a one-game ban.
Midfielder Barry Bannan is also rated doubtful by Villa boss Gerard Houllier after being substituted with a groin injury against Blues.
Stephen Ireland and Robert Pires will come under consideration for a recall to the starting line-up. Former Liverpool striker Emile Heskey has resumed training following a knee problem but it is too early for him to be considered against the Reds.
Liverpool Squad: Reina, Johnson, Skrtel, Kyrgiakos, Konchesky, Lucas, Meireles, Kuyt, Rodriguez, Torres, Ngog, Jones, Aurelio, Kelly, Poulsen, Cole, Babel, Jovanovic, Pacheco.
Aston Villa Squad: Friedel, Guzan, L Young, Collins, Dunne, Cuellar, Warnock, Bannan, Clark, Hogg, Downing, Agbonlahor, Ireland, Pires, Bannan, Carew, Delfouneso, Lichaj, Lowry, Johnson.
I doubt there'll be any surprises in the starting X1. Roy is a bit more predictable than Rafa was. For me, the hardest decision is who to have on the bench and who misses out altogether.
I don't think Cole did enough to force his way into the team at all and would rest him in favour of Jovanovic and Aurelio to be on the bench to cover both left side positions. I expect Konch will be given another start TBH.
The starting X1 for me should be
Reina,
Johnson, Skrtel, Kyrgiakos, Konchesky,
Kuyt, Lucas, Meireles, Rodriguez,
Torres, Ngog,
The subs could be
Jones,
Aurelio,
Kelly,
Babel,
Jovanovic,
Poulsen
