****ing hell, it's like trying to train Lassie

It's far far far far far easier, to get bodies in the way and be slightly organised, than it is to score goals.

TBH, it took Roy to show people what a good job Rafa did.

Will it take Houllier for people to realise what a good job O'Neil was doing at Villa?
      Forwards.......

        Yup. And the reason why?

Because when you defend you don't have the ball. Requires no skill on the ball what so ever, and that is the hardest skills to excel at. In defence you just have to be aware of what's around you. Sit deep and you don't even need to master the off side trap.

This comes from myself, who played centre half in the Sunday league
        Forwards.......

It's like talking to ****ing Lassie, with you.....

          So just to summarise.
Did Ngog and Babel have a good game, or did Villa have a ****e defence?

            N'Gog had an excellent game.

If you're a striker, you still need to DO something to score.

If you're a defender and the opposition are offering nothing, you dont need to do much and you've got your clean sheet.

Skimming through it doesn't look as if anyone has mentioned Babel yet, I think he had a good game, some good little flicks and a good finish for the goal, first touch is still dire but I definitely think up front is more his position, if he plays like he did tonight consistently (which is another problem of his) then we have a good squad striker on our hands.

I look forward to the future tweets of "BOOM....hat-trick 2day....Roy Legooo"

What, have a massive outlay and not win anything and leave behind a mediocre squad with no depth to it?

Tell you what, that Lucas and Meireles partnership is gelling up nicely. Lucas has come on leaps and bounds and Meireles looks quality. Thought our poorest player was Dirk to be honest. His passing and first touch were lacking today.

Let's build on it at Newcastle.

Good performance yesterday overall, and the 2-0 lead gave some confidence to the team. Villa were shockingly poor yesterday and with that kind of performance they could be relegation candidates.

N'gog was excellent, and I really like the guy, hope he gets a lot more games from the start in the premiership. Also notable performances from our CM, Johnson and Maxi and the later is really starting to show something this season.

Also some credit to Konchesky (waiting for the crucifixion), who had a solid game yesterday, with some decent passes and good defending.

And Babel looked lively up front, perhaps he is trying to claim a stake for a starter up there?.

He hardly features for us anymore but there was enough speed, skill and commitment from him to warrant an extended run up top. Thought he did well but faded as he tired - but you need minutes on the pitch to build up your stamina.
