The only thing regarding roy the said was that he's not here long enough and results must improve.

The play that has gone on this season, and I guess from the last half of last season, is unacceptable for Liverpool to accomplish what it wants to accomplish – for us to accomplish what we want to accomplish. We’re in sync with the fans in what it’s going to take and what we need for this club going forward.

The one place we may not be in sync with supporters is that when I was a fan of a club growing up and through my adult life till about 12/13 years ago. I didn’t worry so much about the long term aspects.

So it was said once and to me its a pretty open ended statement. It could mean anything. They also followed it by indicating that we should think more long term as fans rather than always about the here and now.For me the worrying thing was that they expect improvement but dont see making the quick easy decision as a good thing so that means we are stuck with Roy for some time yet.

I think to most of us,except them it would appear, that the quickest way to make improvements is to sack the man who is dragging us to a level well below what our squad is capable of.Also talk about some players being undeserving of their wages, while undoubtedly true in some cases, leads me to believe they've been taken in by the fiction of roy having been dealt "a poor hand" by Rafa

Your entitled to your opinion but I am a lot more positive after last night and thats something because I'm normally a glass half empty kind of person

I have stated for a long time they would do nothing until a CEO is appointed and I still believe that will be the case

You may be right about that but if you are then that is another cause for worry as they clearly stated we are not close to an appointment of a CEO hence loads of time for Roy to drag us further into the mire

This is nicked off RAWK which is probably one of the most conservative and cautious of all the LFC sites

I think a huge vote of respect to everyone at the club for putting that on, to the owners for not asking that the questions are vetted and to the lads and lasses at LFCTV for allowing nearly every caller (apart from Darren in Thetford ) to come on and make it plain how unpopular the facerubbing incompetent is. I think there are quite a few on these boards and elsewhere who owe a few apologies this morning - you need to get yourselves out of the mindset of ongoing guerilla warfare against the club lads.

            So, what did we learn.

On the ground I think that we got an inkling that the preferred option would be a redeveloped Anfield but only if this could bring in the commercial revenues that they think they can generate from a new ground. I think that John W Henry effectively ruled out a groundshare with his comment that "if the fans don't want it then it is a non-starter". Perhaps if they had been in place longer and had built up the sort of bank of goodwill they have at the Redsox then they could put a campaign in place to win over hearts and minds to the idea. I don't think that they are in a position to do that now though and I think that answer was an acceptance of that.

On Roy. He's toast isn't he. The fact that they allowed caller after caller to criticise him so openly, the fact that they mounted no serious defence of him (the presenter even reminding us that the current owners were not responsible for hiring him) spoke volumes. What we got instead were appeals to be patient and a comparison of the perspectives required to run a club as compared to supporting one. Personally I am absolutely delighted with this stance, running a football club like a fan is a recipe for a Ridsdalian or Ashleyan disaster. Constant change in the pursuit of short term goals. As painful as this season is, as long as it may seem as we trudge to another insipid away defeat and return disillusioned what is important is that this summer we have the right people in place to start again. I was delighted to hear that they expect to be in a position to be challenging for the title again in three years time too. That is ambition and it is the sort of time frame we need to be looking at rather than simply the next dreadful performance from Roys's team.

On Dalglish. It has taken a long time. So long in fact that you wonder if people at the club were briefing against him when they took over, but they now seem to have realised that Kenny Dalglish has got to have a substantive role at Liverpool FC. Interesting too that it was Damien Comolli who they were speaking to about this.

On the new CEO. This is the point at which they were most cagey, with Werner, who I assume is leading the search in fact point blank refusing to answer even when prompted by John W Henry. I am guessing that this means that things are relatively advanced and that he was determined not to say anything for fear of undermining some delicate negociations.

And I'll leave you with a bit of guessing between the lines. People have been asking if they have been listening and I thought that there were plenty of snippets in there that showed that they have. Little bits of information that it seems could only have come from the endless discussions that take place on forums like this. One revealing moment I thought was when they were talking about Roy and the need for patience and a long term vision. They said that there have been some terrible short term footballing decisions made at the club over the last year or so and they did not want to make any more. Interestingly a very similar wording to one of the questions we asked in our interview. Anyway which "poor decisions" do we think he was referring to?

            - Sacking Rafa?
            - Appointing Roy Hodgson
            - Sending Insua and Aquilani out on loan
            - Buying a couple of ****e 30 year olds with no resale value

            - All of the above?

Interesting comments from the RAWK post and I have to say that I am also quietly optimistic about the future now. Definitely feel better about it having watched that interview.

Not sure if your having a pop at me with that piece Lec but I can assure you I am not a war with the club nor am I delusional like Ashley or Risdale.I have never been as pissed off with a manager of our club as I am with Roy nor have I ever wanted one gone as early as this one,but then I despaired that he was even considered for the job.

Roy needs to go,simple as.The only way I can accept him staying until the summer is if the important people at our club like Reina,Torres etc have been and continue to be fully briefed on our search for the right man to take us forward.

I accept that while they seem to be doing **** all about Roy that may well not be the case,i just want to be sure they are aware that he needs to go and that it must be done asap and without any chance of our top players believing he has a future at the club.As far as that goes I remain to be convinced on that, mainly due to the favourable rubbish the media print about roy and the abuse that Rafa gets by the same people.Since these lads are not football savvy I fear they may believe that ****.

I wasnt having a pop at anyone (it wasnt written by me anyway)

IF the owners truley are "in sync with the fans" then Roys days are very much numbered
I think that if they were truly and fully 'in sync with the fans', roy would've been sacked already.

Seriously Nigey, what do you expect them to say? We disagree with what Roy is doing? We have reservations about what Roy is doing? We don't want to say what we think about what Roy is doing?

Anything other than a bland endorsement would make things worse...unless they sack him on the spot and replace him with someone better.

                        Would have been fine, IMO.

Oh and for the record I want Roy gone now

The longer he stays the more his tactics will become ingrained in the club

I just am not convinced that the owners said anything that proferred any type of support to Roy last night

I never expected them to slag off Roy many told us they would dodge / avoid / wouldnt face any Roy questions yet they fronted a lot of them and offered little or no apology for Roy or the team

i have a sneaking feeling that January will be highly significant in many ways

Problem though, is that JWH also admitted that they're not that close to appointing a CEO. Bodger will hang in for the whole season, i fear.

Most probably all of the above plus giving Carra a new two year deal. I would say that the only reason to why they haven't sacked Roy yet is that they already agreed a deal with someone but he isn't available yet.

That of course points to someone currently under contract that will be available in the summer.
