If you're allowing me to cherry pick a manager of my own free choice, then i wouldnt say Rafa.

In realistic terms though, he's the best option IMO.

As i said yesterday - if he can work under a regime that managed to seriously financially hamstring us, and get within 4 points of the title - why is it unreasonable to say that, with good backing, he could match that again, or do better?

I think rafa is one of the least likely choices for nesv, so i would think cherry picking is allowed. A simple yet ambiguous poll, but I think I might have mentioned that already.

I voted no as it's too soon for him to be back. I want him to succeed at Inter for 2-3 seasons then hopefully come back to us when the dust has settled.

**** No. Roy is a terrible manager but thats no basis for getting Rafa back, he done his time. The guy causes a massive divide again amongst players and fans IMO and not a chance of the owners bringing back a guy that is notorious for throwing the toys out of the pram if he doesn't get his own way. Same thing happening at Inter now. We need unity at the club. The fact that Roy is such a disaster will be many people basis to vote yes i'd imagine.

You honestly think Rafa would have got us back in it this year? After all the negative sentiment towards him last season this place would have gone crazy if he was still here now, working under the same financial restraints as the Squirell. And on the pitch we would not have fared much better - would have been better for sure but not by much IMO.

Unless NESV came in last Summer it was the right time for Rafa to go. I think as much as I would like him to come back, it is a decision from the heart rather than the head.

The only example we can look at is when Valencia first won the league and then didn't even qualify for the CL the following season. What happened, how did the team and Rafa react? They won the league.

That is the only example we can look at how good Rafa is tacking a set back season. I don't think you can get a better reaction than winning the league.

NOTHING points to that he can't take a set back. Everything points to that he makes the team stronger than ever after a set back season.

My point was that I don't think the fans would have been behind him as much this season, which would have made his task haredr because he really had unbelievable support from the fans. He would have been THE reason we are in the Europa League and why Nando etc want to leave. Hiding to nothing.

I don't think there would be any chance that Nando would leave if Rafa would have stayed, not a chance.

Carra would probably not got a new deal and now play his last season for us.

I don't think the supporters would think he is the reason we are in the EL. They would blame that on G&H. If we missed out on the CL again then it would be different. Then you could start to blame him not delivering because he couldn't blame anyone else than himself if that happened. No battle with the owners and being able to build the squad the way he want.

Too much baggage,wouldnt get a fair crack from the media etc which would only cause hassle at the club.would also like a different footballing approach at LFC then the one Rafa most often employed but agree with what was said by others above,if certain players hold too much sway they should be gone too.

i voted yes, because i do. just maybe not right at the moment. in a couple of years when certain players have moved on, absolutely.

i would still back him to do what needed to be done if he returned though.

You could also argue that without the CL money, H&G could no longer finance their debts....
