        The very same, yes.

What I remember under Rafa is that we would press high up the pitch and try to win the ball in the oppositions half, as opposed to sitting deep like Roys side.

What I also remember under Rafa is us struggling to break down poor sides who shut up shop. But it wasn't our style of play that was so bad, it was s lack of quality toward players that prevented us breaking sides down. We have similar problems now under Roy, with funnily enough - similar players.

Had Rafa got his first choice targets, no question we'd have done better in that respect. Also no question that Rafa spunked his money on some pretty ****e players when he'd have been best looking elsewhere. Kuyt, for all his positives and negatives, was brought in as a striker, what a joke that was. Riera, whilst at least he was a winger was never above average. Babel has never done **** all either.

Hopefully Comolli will keep the dross to a minimum, or at the very least bring in players on the correct wages so we can off load them minimum fuss if they don't work out.
          Forwards.......

Look that walk it into the net **** might work in spain but it doesn't work in the prem. Playing like Arsenal will only get you so far in England and one thing it doesn't get you is silverware.

Yes you need flair but you also need that steel through the team to take care of the dirty cunts who will just kick the **** out of you. You can have a team full of flair players like arsenal but it will get you nowhere when a 6ft plus player in defence or midfield puts his size 11's up your arse.

Arsenal under Wenger have won three Prem titles, 4 FA Cups and 1 League Cup.

Yes they did but they Won all that when they had the steel in the team. unlike the past couple of years where they just try to walk it into the net and are found wanting.

They didn't play in the same way when they did that. They played more counter attacking football using the strength of Henry that could destroy teams using his speed in the quick counter attacks.

A lot of people seem to have wiped the memory of last season from their minds. Boring ****e football is what we played. Ok maybe it was boring and ****e further up the pitch but it was still boring and ****e.
"With Ron Yeats in defence, we could play Arthur Askey in goal."

Good god, don't let it happen again.

I think Bulld0g's exaggerating just a touch for effect, but then so are the inevitable counter arguments. And so it always has been, and always will be forever more until my head actually does explode it seems.

Rafa Benitez is a man of contradictions, and his career at Liverpool is probably the biggest one. I really hope for sanity's sake that our fanbase at large will oneday start accepting some shades of grey and that people actually do have some grounds for the views they hold about it, whether they personally agree or not.
