I suppose the question is whether such a team is actually just a fantasy.
Maybe, but with the team we had for large parts of Rafa's reign we were the better side on paper in 90% of matches we played. I think his fear of losing is deeply ingrained and will override everything else unless we're in a situation where we have nothing to lose by attacking - point in case being the end of ther 08/09 season where we went balls out in attack as we tryed to claw back United's lead at the top. By then it was too late though the damage had been done from earlier draws against **** teams at Anfield.

This issue came to a head for me when we went to a struggling, newly promoted Wolves last season, played for, and seemed pleased with a draw.

He persisted in playing two holding midfielders in home games against inferior opposition when a more attacking formation could have won ( and also could have lost) those matches. proof for me that he set out not to lose games.

Also loads of baffling substitutions ala taking Torres off when we played Birmingham (the day Stevie shook his head in disbelief)

I'm pretty surprised at the results so far. Although its a small sample of the forum. I expect it to be a split of 60% - 40%. I wonder what the feeling is elsewhere.
I have a contradictory opinion. I think Kenny should have been given the chance before Roy. But I don't want Rafa back as we should move on. Fools talk.

I am not surprised. We are having a nightmare with a **** manager and someone asks whether you want a better manager instead....

Put a dozen top managers (including rafa) in a poll and ask who should replace Roy and there is no way 11 of them would get 30% of the vote between them.

Yes, well in fairness I found that annoying too.
              Really?

I know, his transfer dealings were ****ing terrible, remind me, how much money did he recoup for our then owners?

Yes because he knows this club inside out, he knows what LFC stands for.

Yes because he hates Fergie and finally because he is one of us.

Out of the 308 comments I've just read, that is by far the most terrible. Like seriously, what the ****ing ****.

Totally. That was without the doubt to me the most ridiculous comment I read in years..

Please, not the 'net spend' etc debate again like brain dead idiots? Do you think people ignore the financial situation before they post such an opinion, like they've been living on the moon or something? We're all adults who've been over the old ground and then formed opinions having factored in such considerations. Well most of us.
