Disagree by all means but FFS stop being such a ****..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Possibly, but there's a fair few of us who voted for him just cos we think he can regain his - and our- mojo.Originally posted by The Erectile Banana View PostToo many posters seem to be voting yes for Rafa because he is better than Hodgson. That is not a good enough reason to take him back in my eyes. A dead skunk has displayed more managerial aptitude than Hodgson, but I wouldn't want it managing Liverpool.
By the way, Riera did improve the 1st team- so much so he got a call up for the world & european champions- he just turned into a ****.3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Depends with Johnson, he clearly has some attributes that are far superior to Arbeloa even if he is not as good in other areas.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostIt would but I disagree with Johnson, who is inferior to the player he replaced, and Aquilani, who did nothing significant even in his best performances. Aquilani got a fantastic assist rate for the short period he played in a new country coming back from injury. He has hardly had enough to time with us to make such a judgement from you.

Most of us didn't want Rafa gone when we he was let go.

Ferguson's signings in the last four windows:
Hernandez (left off the list for some reason)
Christopher Lloyd Smalling (undisclosed, Fulham)
Luis Antonio Valencia Mosquera (undisclosed, Wigan Athletic)
Michael James Owen (free, Newcastle United)
Gabriel Obertan (£3m, Bordeaux)
Mame Biram Diouf (undisclosed, Molde)
Zoran Tošić (undisclosed, Partizan Belgrade)
Adem Ljajić (undisclosed, Partizan Belgrade)
Ritchie Ria Alfons de Laet (undisclosed, Stoke City)
Which of those has improved the first team?.

I meant the risks for making errors were higher, was trying to make a point with the wrong example ...Originally posted by Craig_H View PostThat isnt what 'margin for error' means though.
"Each and every transfer implies a risk, especially when your margin for error increases as you're forced to shop in a pool of lesser players."
Having increased margin for error, is a good thing. It's when you have no margin for error, that it becomes much more difficult. With our budgets, Rafa had very little margin for error.
As you said, he had little margin for error, which is a different thing to what I said. Are we winning?

The expression you'd have been wanting, i think, would've been 'likelihood of error'

No way. Their duty is to employ the best possible person for the job, not conduct a popularity contest that feeds the already inflated egos of PL footballers.Originally posted by spud_gun View PostIF the board were to explore the possibility of Rafa coming back would they be duty bound to speak with the senior players in the dressing room prior to any reappointment?

Why?Originally posted by The Erectile Banana View PostI'm not getting into this net spend crap. Too much time has been wasted on it already in countless other threads.
It's vital to understand the restrictions Benitez was subjected to at the time. I can understand if you state that figures we see in the press don't reflect everything but to dismiss net spend would be ludicrous.
Are we winning?
