I'm fairly convinced that this is a highly innapropriate comment to make. I'll give it some more thought in due course.

Not sure what further thought is needed - it's a stupid, crass, and deeply offensive thing to say in any context. LDP reminds me of my four year old - when he gets over-excited he can get a bit carried away and do really dumb things. On that basis some time on the naughty step should sort LDP out.

Perhaps not, but i also dont think any manager would've been looking to drop Torres and/or Gerrard - which throws the 'first teamers' tag of Aquilani and Keane into considerable doubt, IMO.

But either they were first teamers who arguably were ****, or they were extremely expensive squad buys in areas we already had top class players. Either way, not a good use of limited funds IMO.

But anyway, he won't be coming back.

I believe one of the reason we bought Aqualani was to do with the structuring of payments and recouping money Roma owed us from the Riise sale (before Roma who were/are in dire financial straight went bankrupt).

I'm sure had the owners given him £20m straight he would have bought somebody else.

Maxi has been hit and miss but for what it cost (£1.5m?) he was well worth the gamble, how many Argentinan or any top footballing countries international players can be bought for that money.

Keane was a Parry signing, (it's been said many time the priority was Barry then Keane), he had a very good season with Spurs prior to signing for us but was totally **** when he played in the red shirt. It was stupid of Rafa to sell him though without having assurances that the money recouped would be spent on another top class striker.

All in all i believe Rafa was certainly hamstrung by the then owners.

Your post is a fair one although i do disagree with some things.

Aqua cost us £19.4 million overall, brought in injured by Rafa to replace Alonso. Coming into the premier leagues rough and tumble from teh slow paced Serie A, with a history of being crocked and it being well known that the transition from Serie A to The Premier League is one of the toughest because of the contrast in the leagues.

IMO the Aqua signing was the final nail in his coffin. We needed a replacement for Alonso, someone to pull the midfield strings and act as a cog for the team, someone who was fit and ready to step into the first team immediately. That didn't happen and we paid for it with complete lack of creativity and being unable to break teams down.

The Keane transfer was a joke. Keane had a mare is you correctly stated but should have never been sold in January. War between Rafa & parry, Rafa v parry and Rafa wins. Keane gets sold, no replacement is brought in ..... and Gerrard gets injured. Whoops!! You couldn't write that stuff.

As for Maxi, i don't mind him as a squad player but as a regular first teamer not a chance but he has done ok this season IMO and is a better option than Babel & Jovo and certainly in better form than Kuyt/Cole, but just because he is an Argentinian doesn't automatically make him good. Lot of crummy Argies out there as much as their are classy ones. But i do agree he was worth a punt and hopefully he can improve.

At end of the day, Rafa dealings in the transfer market in last 2 seasons at LFC cost us and cost him his job.

I'm drunk and furious atm, but to anwer the question, I definitely want Rafa back, although now might'nt be the best time. He needs a break from football and perhaps now seems a shade soon. Although if it's a toss up between roy who is an absolute disagrace and Rafa well, clearly we all know that it's Rafa each and every time. But allow Rafa to relax a bit, then grab him back and lead us to glory, I couldn't write a fairlytail better than that. (Much better than Mellor's goal vs Arsenal, thank you Martin Tyler)
