To be fair, a lot of the support for Rafa is down to Roy being so abject and there being a lack of decent replacements. Replacing Rafa with Roy was a mistake so, it's almost natural for many to want Rafa back.

I do, am not a blind faith person. I still have reservations over Rafa's faults, but personally would like to see if he could undo the mess of his last season.

        Benitez agent: 'We'll rescind contract'

“We are negotiating with Inter to rescind the contract,” confirmed Rafa Benitez’s agent this evening.

The rapport hit a brick wall after the Club World Cup victory when he set a ‘back me or sack me’ ultimatum.

“We are negotiating with Inter to rescind the contract,” agent Manuel Garcia Quillon told Sky Sport Italia.

“We have not yet reached a definitive conclusion. Tomorrow we will meet again and continue with the negotiations to find a solution.”

It is now practically official that Benitez has been in charge of his last game for the Nerazzurri.

The details are a problem, as it’s suggested a termination could cost Inter €8m.

Could his master plan be to pocket in as much money to buy back the club?

More money for rafa then? Not bad getting few million for being a complete and utter failure.

Rafael Benitez makes donation to Hillsborough families

Benitez attended a Hillsborough memorial service at Anfield last year
Former Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has made a £96,000 donation to the Hillsborough Family Support Group.

The group was founded by families who lost loved ones in the Hillsborough Disaster in April 1989 which resulted in the deaths of 96 Liverpool fans.

Benitez, whose Anfield reign ended last week, supported the organisation during his six years in charge of the Reds.

The 50-year-old Spaniard was confirmed on Thursday as the new coach of European champions Inter Milan.

"When he handed the cheque over to me he was very emotional, as I was and the committee was, especially when we saw the amount," said Margaret Aspinall, chairman of the Hillsborough Family Support Group.

"He just said that he wanted to help with the cause and hoped we get what we rightly deserve.

"We have lots of things that we spend money on; a memorial every year, upkeep of the office and expenses but Rafa just said as long as it helps the group then that's all that matters."

Yeah the blokes all about the money isn't he

                Cheers

What is this post in aid of? Firstly i know about the donation for Hillsborough and secondly i never said he was all about the money or anything even resembling that.

Its not half bad failing in your job and getting rewarded for it. I guess bankers aren't the only ones this happens to. Bit quick to jump Rach

Are you thinking of going into the same line of work? You're entirely qualified for it, after all.

****ing estat.... nope can't even type it being sarcastic

I don't have rose tinted glasses... I know NO-ONE is perfect & I do agree Lec & others make some very good points for not going back BUT my opinion hasn't changed - ffs bring him home.

IF he fails then he he has no-one to blame he knows the score & what he's getting into.

Rgardless of being our former manager I don't think there are better candidates out there.
