Yeah but that makes it sound like they're waiting for a train - like, "it'll turn up when it turns up".

NESV need to be proactive in this search for a new manager, not passive and simply 'waiting' for a new manager to roll up.

Yeah, I know what you mean, but maybe there really is no-one they can get, or they know exactly who they want and he's said he won't come until June.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

the manager situation is a ****ing nightmare at the moment - we desperately need to get rid of Roy but we also need someone to replace him.

Rafa is available but ideally someone with no prior baggage with the club would suit best, it appears that's NESV's take on it as well as surely the old goat would be gone by now.

Shockingly it looks likely Roy will be in charge until the summer, if they've got someone a bit special lined up to replace him then and back the new guy to the hilt in the transfer market I could just about stomach it, mainly as I think this season is done and dusted for the top 4 anyway if this doesn't happen then a lot of us aren't going to be happy!

what do we do if next season comes along, and actually starts with Bodger still in charge? I've got a horrible feeling thats the reality we're facing.

I'm rarely optimistic about our club these days, but I do think that's the least likely scenario.

If Deschamps isn't available now then he shouldn't even be an option. We need to replace Roy NOW. That is the key point.

After this season it can already be to late. Roy need to go now and we need to get in a manager that can build up the club long term now.

And who exactly is available "NOW" other than Rafa who we honestly shouldn't be hiring back "NOW".

This summer, we'll have a chance to get Deschamps or Villa-Boas(my pick). If we just rush into things NOW we are ****ed for even longer.

                        agree completely

Problem being there aren't many available at the moment apart from the obvious.

I still think the question of who with is key. There is little point going to the expense and potential 'burn in' period with a new manager if they aren't a long term bet and I'm not sure there are many managers out there right now who fit our bill and are available.

I know the last comment is going to be a red rag to your Rafa obsessed bull but in all honesty you have to see that the owners could have legitimate concerns about bringing him back.

How often is the manager any team wants actually really available. Most of the time these days top clubs have to pay a fee to buy the manager they want out of their contract at their current club.

This is obviously going to be difficult for us, trying to lure a manager who is already at a team which will likely be in a better position then us (CL and League ladder wise)

You know what pisses me off ? When we are held Hostage by our own players by threatening to leave or implying that they want to leave. No matter how **** we are right now,This is Liverpool Football club. If anyone wants to leave then **** off. No one is bigger than the club. I am sick of hearing this **** of if we don't get better then Torres and co. will leave, and this **** about saying a player is too good for us now **** OFF no one is too good for Liverpool.

I would be thinking of things like the fact that Deschamp wouldn't come until next season as he is at a club and is in competitions that he wants to compete in. At the minute if we want a manager at a club they will probably have to be underachieving or at a relatively minor club. How many mangers of the calibre we want will come into those categories? I'd suggest not many, meaning that the market for managers is really the summer.
