My point is why would it even bother someone like JH? Why didn't he just stop following him(if indeed he ever did)? Any abuse would then stop, wouldn't it? I'm fairly new to Twitter and don't get the fuss this has caused.

Maybe to take legal action as his wife and him were threatened.

you have to follow someone if you want to private message them a threat of legal action. or of anything else, for that matter.

I wasnt having that debate, i was merely saying that JWH was indeed following the guy. As others have said, probably because the idiot was posting illegal threats and in order to act upon these and be fully aware of them, Henry would need to have been following the guy.

Thank you. All I wanted was a (possible) answer to my question as a Twitter novice. I'm still curious to know how JH would have become aware of the guy's existance. Probably through one of the LFC groups he(JH) was following. The only reason this whole thing puzzled me is that I couldn't work out how you can abuse/threaten someone on Twitter.

if you mention another user in your tweets (which this guy obviously did) the people mentioned get a notification and can read what you say.

No. I get what you are saying. You have given me something nobody else has. That being a genuine reason why JH was following this idiot. This debate has more to do with my ignorance and lack of Twitter knowledge than anthing else.
