I agree, in all likelyhood they have leaked info to the media. And I agree that this is not the way to do things. We all keep harking on about the Liverpool Way - which is to conduct your business behind closed doors. Great. Fab. That's exactly what they were doing...

Then they suddenly find themselves on the defensive against fans on forums and phone ins who think that because there's no information in the public domain, they aren't listening to fans. They don't care. They don't have a clue about football.

As I said earlier. Prior to this leakage, they have conducted themselves with very well. Privacy has obviously been a big thing for them.

They have been forced into leaking this info as a way of appeasing the fans. It's a bloody shame if you ask me. I don't think there is room for the Liverpool Way in todays game. I really don't.

NESV probably dont have a selected list of their favourites YET which was probably why the Times & Telegraph headed the list of those first with the story (probably the papers they saw as the most "credible")

Lets face it it does 2 things it calms the fans without actually fully undermining the manager

They will let the manager undermine himself

My guess is the following:-

1) in an ideal world they would like Roy to resign
2) my guess is Roy wants his full compo so resigning is out of the question
3) NESV arent willing to settle out his contract unless they absolutely have to
4) we will see this cat and mouse game continue with the position ebbing and flowing with results

I will be shocked if Roy sees out this month the pressure is building the media have the scent of blood in the water and for it him to continue it will take a major turnaround (which isnt going to happen)

The only way this wil be resolved is for NESV to sack him and pay him compensation. He isnt stupid, he will not quit as he knows he has slightly the upper hand in this with regard to payment.

Completely agree with you Lecter. I knew there was a reason why I have always viewed you as one of, if not the best poster on a lfc forum, even if you disagreed with me at the time, when I said Torres would be a quality signing back on Kraptalk before we were even linked with him.

Generally we washed our dirty laundry behind closed doors but there was always the odd leak just to head off any potential rebellions amongst the fans / players

The club used the press when it suited them and didnt play out everything like a pantomime

I think NESV have leaked this to calm the rebellion and buy themselves a bit of time (whilst not taking pressure off Roy)

I see what you're getting at mate. But you're not going to get me to agree that leaking to the press is a good way of letting the fans know they understand our feelings.

I totally agree with you. But he has a contract, he will not break it, as he knows if he does he looses the biggest payday of his "career". NESV will have to propose a leaving by mutual consent deal, at the end of the day they will have to pay the majority of his remaining contract

How much is each PL place worth in prize money? Over half a million, i think.

How much will his incompetence likely to cost us in prize money?

And what is his payoff likely to be?
