Sacking ASAP would be the best option. NESV have to pay compensation and in the meantime they have to pay his salary. Even if it cost £2 mill, it is a small price to pay in the grand scheme of things. Like you say if we finish 4 places higher up the table it paid for.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostHow much is each PL place worth in prize money? Over half a million, i think.
How much will his incompetence likely to cost us in prize money?
And what is his payoff likely to be?
I reckon the two figures arent that different.

Cheers Lecter. Very interesting. So from what you're saying, what NESV have done (if they have indeed leaked this stuff) doesn't really go against the principles of TLW?Originally posted by Lecter View PostGenerally we washed our dirty laundry behind closed doors but there was always the odd leak just to head off any potential rebellions amongst the fans / players
The club used the press when it suited them and didnt play out everything like a pantomime
I think NESV have leaked this to calm the rebellion and buy themselves a bit of time (whilst not taking pressure off Roy)
And in fairness to them, it's worked.K ris90210

If people's assumptions are correct re the leaks, I don't think they are undermining the CLUB. They are helping the club by easing the fans concerns and letting them know they should support us in every game safe in the knowledge their voice has been heared and a change is a-coming. Or at least that is surely the aim, or one of them.
I couldn't give a **** whether it undermines the manager. It's the CLUB that matters, but in any case if it lessens the booing it prevents even more pressure being piled on Roy regardless of the fact he may be about to get the boot anyway.
As for the owners washing dirty linen in public just as Purslow/G&H did with Rafa, I don't agree. There is a world of difference between engaging in a propaganda campaign full of recriminations and having a sly word to journalists about the future direction of the club to ease the growing concern of fans.Last edited by Red_Polo; 03-01-11, 08:52 PM.Like blood on iron

Thing is, there is still the thought in the back of my mind that the leak was in order to take the pressure of Hodgson. In that, "No need to panic people, he's on his way out so we can all calm down".Originally posted by Red_Polo View PostIf people's assumptions are correct re the leaks, I don't think they are undermining the CLUB. Well we'll see wont we. If he was a gonna I think that there'd be some dates in the leaks. Instead it's all smoke and mirrors. Hopefully he's gone soon.Forwards.......

Well, I'd be lying if I said I don't have that nagging doubt too. It would be easy to assume the worst given recent experiences with **** owners, but they've done nothing to make me assume ill of them as of yet.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostThing is, there is still the thought in the back of my mind that the leak was in order to take the pressure of Hodgson. I don't think they'd have put a date on it. Surely they'll solve the problem as best they can as quick as they can, and they have no surefire way of knowing exactly when that is. We shouldn't expect them to make promises they don't know they can keep.Like blood on iron

Dalglish is said to be the stop gap appointment. It doesn't take weeks to sort out him coming in.Originally posted by Red_Polo View PostWell, I'd be lying if I said I don't have that nagging doubt too. If Dalglish was to come in for the short term, and this was nailed on, then surely there'd be a leak of a date, as in within a week or within a fortnight, etc etc..... The fact there hasn't been a date, indicates to me they may not have given up on Hodgson just yet.Forwards.......

Or they havent come to a decision regarding Kenny yetOriginally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostDalglish is said to be the stop gap appointment. It doesn't take weeks to sort out him coming in.

Kenny is away at the minute in Dubai if the rumours are be believed
There are tons of rumours out there from Dalglish coming back to Dalglish/Thommo to even the youth team guy taking over Segura/Borrell??
I reckon they are going through their options carefully whilst examining their permanent choices at the same time
Personally I reckon Roy is done and they will bury him in the next few weeks and imo it will all happen quickly because all their ducks will be lined up in a row by thenBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

OK, I see your point now. I still don't agree (see below) but it's a fair point of view.Originally posted by marcus50bucks View PostSeems I am being misunderstood so I apologies if I am not making myself clear...... I firmly believe they have leaked info so I would've preferred them not to have undermined the manager like that. I didn't like when it happened to Rafa and I don't like it now... I want Hodgson gone like yesterday but the way it's been played out in the media is amateur style.imo.

To be clear I realised you weren't talking about undermining Hodgson - sorry if my comment was misleading.Originally posted by Lecter View PostI never said they were undermining the manager (they'd have to employ some Chilean miners to do that anyway) as Roys already up to his neck in it
I am certain in an ideal world Roy would show some integrity and fall on his sword but that isnt going to happen and NESV would probably find him resigning quite appealling
I think you are partly right they want to be seen as the party with the most integrity
I honestly think they wont let this continue much longer
Roy is precariously balanced on a tightrope and rather than be the wind blowing him off the rope they'll let the clumsy sod just slip off of his own accord

Yep, they couldn't do anything else. I think they've handled a very difficult situation very well - maybe they could have sacked him a few weeks ago but I can understand why they held off and can understand why they're still holding off while, as you say, letting us know they're on the case.
I think they hoped the phone-in would be sufficient to allay our fears they were out of touch but hopeless results and performances has forced their hand..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.
