Oh, i realise that. It's also not my idea of 'quickly' either.

Same. Quickly would be by the Man Utd game.
      Forwards.......

I just don't want a negative vibe about Rangnick to start to build up, as I think there is a pretty good chance that he could be our man when all is said and done.
Thing is, rangnick has been managing since he was 25 and it took him til he was 52 to have a breakout success behind him - not that this breakout success has resulted in anything that he actually won at the top level.

Compare that to Rafa who started managing properly (ie not youth or B teams) at the age of 35 and by the age of 43 had won the Spanish league twice as well as the UEFA Cup.

The two really don't compare, and as I say I'm not a great Rafa lover.

Bad vibe or not, I want to be getting someone with a CV to rival Rafa's or a young manager with lots of potential.

Rangnick is neither, so if it's him I'm worried.

You can send messages to people who aren't following you. You just send a tweet with the @ symbol in front of their username.

So if i want to send a message to JWH i tweet with @John_W_Henry in there and twitter alerts him to it.

These are public messages that anyone can see.

The Direct Messages that people have mentioned are private. You can only DM someone if you follow them which is possibly why JWH was for a short time, maybe to send him a legal note.

          Hope that helps.

It does mate. I'm only just gettin' the hang of Twitter. I didn't "get" how you could actually get a message(of any description) to someone who wasn't following you. It's now slowly permeating my technothicko skull.

The simple fact is that all the top managers that we are supposedly interested in, Dortmund manager, Porto manager and Marseille manager are all busy challenging at the top end of their respective leagues so we won't be able to attract any of them until the summer after they have won the trophys they are gunning for

and possible the season after, challenging in the CL

Or that Kenny doesn't want the job.

Or that they don't want Kenny for the job.

Or they do but need to assess how it will affect his role afterwards.

Or that Kenny wants an assistant sorted first.

Or that there is a chance we might still get the permanent man in now.

We don't know what reasons there might be and we may never know. It's all very well people saying 'just do it' but things are not always as straightforward as that.

There are tons of rumours out there from Dalglish coming back to Dalglish/Thommo to even the youth team guy taking over Segura/Borrell??

I reckon they are going through their options carefully whilst examining their permanent choices at the same time

Personally I reckon Roy is done and they will bury him in the next few weeks and imo it will all happen quickly because all their ducks will be lined up in a row by then

Look how long it took to sack Rafa and that was from people who supposedly knew about football...

We had weeks of positioning before they even started the compensation negotiations once a parting of the ways was agreed

With our game in hand, we could be 8 points off 4th at the halfway point. With the inconsistency of all teams this season, i wouldnt say that our position means we're out of contention. Especially when we still have Spurs to come to Anfield.

We're at the half way point, we've played 19 games

I've been looking at what it's taken to get 4th spot in the last few years, over the last 5 years an average of just over 64 points would have been enough to secure 4th. Assuming that will be the case this year we'd need ~39 points from 19 games. I would say that is just possible, we would need a good run of results (and to get results in big games), but that is something we have been capable of in the (not too distant) past. Obviously we would need a new manager though, and the longer Roy sticks around the more difficult it becomes.

Admittedly it's unlikely even with a new manager. If we'd sacked Hodgson a few games ago it would have been much easier
