Not a ****ing chance. The decision will be up to the players, not the manager.
so you saying Gerrard decided to be benched against Bolton?

Arn going on another of his weird anti-Gerrard rants, nothing to see here.

I can't see Roy resting our best players when he must know that, anything else but a win gets him the boot. A win, other teams to slip up and Roy out the door would be a prefect way to start the new year.

yup, you'd imagine he'd run them into the ground if it meant he keeps his job.

I think win, lose or most likely draw (it's away afterall) he'll be out soon, we do need to pick 3 points up though to keep that slim hope of a top 6 place alive.

                Meireles is out

Raul Meireles will miss Wednesday's trip to Blackburn Rovers due to an ankle injury.

The Portugal midfielder was forced from the pitch midway through the first half of our 2-1 win over Bolton on New Year's Day.

Scans revealed bruising to his ankle which will mean he plays no part at Ewood Park - though the 27-year-old could be back for Sunday's FA Cup tie with Manchester United.

"He's got bone bruising on his ankle," assistant manager Sammy Lee told Liverpoolfc.tv. "This isn't as bad as we first thought.

"Unfortunately he's not available for Blackburn but he's a tough cookie and hopefully he will be back for Sunday."

Meanwhile, Jay Spearing is back in training after fracturing a bone above his ankle at Melwood in November.

Only an excuse so he can blame it on tired players after we lost the game.
I think his comments indicate that he will try and rest them at some point. In a lot of ways the Blackburn game would be a logical one to pick but with Meireles out I suspect we will see them both play.

This is the dilemma, the Bolton game was the fist game i have ever wanted LFC to lose, bit embarrassing really but just the way i feel.

Thing is we are a few more dropped points away from being really out of any sort of contention. So do you want us to win and prolong Roy's tenure or us to lose, fall even more behind and him to maybe go? Its a poxy situation, i'm just hoping we put in a horrible performance but yet still somehow win and this doesn't take the focus off roy's failures, and what we all want still happens, without us losing ground.

Liverpool’ Raul Meireles has been ruled out of Wednesday’s trip to Ewood Park to face Blackburn Rovers.

The Portuguese midfielder was subbed after just 20 minutes of the win over Bolton at Anfield on Saturday, being replaced by Steven Gerrard of course.

The injury though is just bruising on his ankle and he should be available for Sunday’s trip to Old Trafford to face Man United in the FA Cup.

Assistant manager Sammy Lee told lfc.tv “Unfortunately he’s not available for Blackburn but he’s a tough cookie and hopefully he will be back for Sunday.”

Joe Cole in behind Torres and Stevie back in Midfield?

Not sure there is anything to read into but usually the injury updates are done by Roy don't remember Sammy ever doing one before

Cole on bench with N'Gog keeping his place.

I really like N'Gog, but i always feel that he is better coming off the bench.
