    Roy Hodgson - Respect

Although in the end it turned very messy and personal towards Roy, he still needs a thanks for his efforts.

He took the Liverpool job and im sure he did his best. In all honesty he was never cut out for the most prestegious job in English football, this was obvious from a very early stage.

He needed to go, and thats now happend. But if he ever comes back to Anfield as a visiting manger - i'll certainley applaude him. It would be very disrespectful for any of our fans to boo him. Liverpool fans are much better than that.

Even in his leaving speach he was very respectful to our club and fans, which shows a lot of class.

Anyway onwards, and upwards under Kenny - regardless of what happens for the rest of the season, we will definaltely see some pride put back into the shirt - starting at old toilet tommorow afternoon!

    Thanks Roy.

        Lots of class? No way.

I'll think about this again and come back to it in a couple of months time. I'm sure he'll mouth it off via the press in the not too distant future, he's got a platform in the lma and the boys' club scrambling to give him air time I'm sure.

All true, but I suspect it won't be long before his true feelings and bad mouthing will come out.

Don't hate him. Don't blame him for taking the job. Don't really blame him for being uncomfortable with all of the media attention, the likes of which he's probably not really come across before. Should never have been offered job.

                  Ynwa Roy (haha only joking)

                  All the best.

disrespected former manager, players and fans - blamed everyone but himself for the dreadful football

You reap what you sew, he'll be remembered as a monumental failure at LFC - the results and his actions will prove this

We have nothing to thank him for. he took us back to the dark ages tactically and sabotaged a season with a loser's mentality, pathetic signings and the worst away record in history.

He has nothing to be thanked for. He saw an opportunity to take over at England's most successful club and completely ****ed it up.

I'm not going to wish illness or misfortune on him, but thank him? No way.

I don't hate him, but I do think less of him as a man and a manager.

I wish him neither good luck nor any ill.

I only hope there are no recriminations to come, and we both move on without any unnecessary bad blood.

I'll settle for just erasing him from memory and the history books.

I won't go slagging him off, but I hardly think he deserves a standing ovation if he ever returns to Anfield.

                            Thanks Roy (for leaving )

Seriously though he needs to be thanked and shown respect as any of our manager's should be. Im fairly sure he never meant to offend the fans deliberately but unfortunately he did every time he opened his mouth or his team took to the field. He was just hopelessly out of his depth and successful football teams have moved on from his dinosaur tactics. He simply wasn't up to the task of being our manager.

I'll thank him now but, as i think Nige just mentioned, i fear it's only a matter of time before he comes out slagging us in the press.

It's all up to him but knowing him, I know it won't be the case. Anyone thinking that his press statement was really written by him and not by LFC's PR is deluded. It's got everything but his stamp on it.
