Didn't want Roy as the manager of my team and never thought I would see Liverpool plummet to the depths of this season, I disagree with the sentiment above, Roy has eclipsed Souness as worst Liverpool manager in living history, fortunately his tenure did not last as long. Saying that, I still wish him all the best and would be surprised if he insulted the club or fans in the future.

he's part of history now and the only positive thing I can say in his defence is that the job was probably just too big for him from the outset.
Purslow and broughton probably knew it too but they needed a patsy to steer the ship during those few uncertain months.
Im sorry Roy was the patsy.
Having said that you just cannot defend such shockingly outdated tactics, a complete lack of media nous, an inability to handle big name players and finally total lack of understanding as to what Liverpool Football Club stands for.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

No chance I'll appluad him. He's a deluded **** who only came here to get LFC on his CV. Then insulted the fans, slagged off players in the media, didn't defend Torres against Whiskeynose and generally brought great mediocrity to our great club. He can **** right off along with his media buddies, the lot of em!

He came, did **** and bought a couple of ****e with him.
Hope all 3 are etched from our memories soon.
woefully out of his depth.
And certainly does not deserve any sort of applause when he returns._____________________________________

Thanks for making us play the worst football by a Liverpool team in half a century. Thanks for making us a joke.Originally posted by magicalbarnes View PostAlthough in the end it turned very messy and personal towards Roy, he still needs a thanks for his efforts.
He took the Liverpool job and im sure he did his best. In all honesty he was never cut out for the most prestegious job in English football, this was obvious from a very early stage.
He needed to go, and thats now happend. But if he ever comes back to Anfield as a visiting manger - i'll certainley applaude him. It would be very disrespectful for any of our fans to boo him. Liverpool fans are much better than that.
Even in his leaving speach he was very respectful to our club and fans, which shows a lot of class.
Anyway onwards, and upwards under Kenny - regardless of what happens for the rest of the season, we will definaltely see some pride put back into the shirt - starting at old toilet tommorow afternoon!
Thanks Roy.
He can **** right off

in MY defence my balls hadnt dropped then.
Now that they have and I have pubes I see that Brian just wasnt what we needed.
However, If roy's bollocks havent dropped by now then that would be worrying so he doesnt really have a defence.

He's been an awful manager for us, you can't blame him for taking the job but he should never have been appointed in the first place, with all due respect he was never good enough, out of his depth from the start!
I have no ill feelings towards him, I'm just glad he's gone, he tried to turn us into Fulham, and he doesn't understand us. I don't hate him, I'm in different to him now. Although I do see him in a different light to how I did before he joined us.Last edited by Exiled_red; 08-01-11, 03:10 PM.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I only hope there are no recriminations to come, and we both move on without any unnecessary bad blood.
His words turned a lot of fans against him almost more than the results.
What's certain is that his reputation as the benign, sage old hand of the game, a sort of 21st century Bobby Robson, has been exposed as a sham.
He's gone now, so we can try and forget his reign ever happened.A humble guy with healthy desire.

His record at Fulham shows that he took them from 7th two seasons ago to 12th last season with just one away win. Hardly shows that he was the kind of manager one of the world's top teams should employOriginally posted by Paul12 View PostI for one am sad. I thought it inevitable that Benitez was let go and was not conivinced that Kenny was the man for the job. I took the view that it would be difficult to sell the club whilst we had a manager who wanted to spend large amounts of money, so we needed a manager who could get more out of the existing squad; and I thought Hodgson had done that at Fulham. I wanted a manager who would be more media friendly than Rafa was at the end and Hodgson had been that at Fulham.
I have thought that a portion of LFC fans and people on this site have been plain wrong and way out of order in some of the things they have said about his record and him personally.
Nevertheless I agree he has performed incredibly poorly and antagonised players and fans. He just could not handle the job and had to go. I don't like LFC being talked of as a sacking club but he has made it necessary.
In my view his performance has been so poor and he has been so wilfully perverse in the things he has said that, although I think I am very fair minded, I still don't think he deserve our thanks. Sorry Roy.
