Instead of feeling delighted, all I can think is who oh why didn't they give him the job in the summer?

I know our expectations would have been higher and we'd have been liable to be disappointed, but there's no way Kenny would have been given a great deal of stick, other than maybe the odd forum post about him being past it.

It just made perfect sense to give him a temporary deal until new owners came in and drafted there own man in.

Aye it should have happened that way but there's no point crying over spilt milk.

it is nice though - finally things seem to be pulling in the same direction, the fans the players, the owners....it's the start of us rebuilding imo - maybe this is why still, two days later, i am still seeing messages from bluenoses slagging us off...it's never been like this before - they must be really really fcuking gutted about it...and if they are...well then we must have done the right thing

I fail to see how anyone anywhere can argue that this isn't a good move for liverpool. Hodgson clearly struggled from the start to get the players responding to him. He lost the fans quickly and there was no turning back...there was no way for him to turn it round...the only chance he had was selling everyone and buying his own team, which well would basicallly have ended up as hybrid of british players from Sunderland/stoke/west ham/fulham and maybe a man city reject as the marquee signing

Kenny Dalglish took his first training session since his return to Liverpool at Melwood today - and our photographer was there to take these great snaps.

Joined by his new first team coach Steve Clarke, Kenny cut a happy figure as he put those players not involved at Manchester United through their paces.
