I was being told on a semi-regular basis that the players had lost faith in him, werent enjoying things at all and couldnt see much improvement with him staying in charge.

I place great trust in my waters!
I know what you mean and I hope we're wrong.

Think he always looks misrable, just his way Spurs fans on here right? what do they think of him?

I like the fact he mentioned that the new boss has to understand the club, it's fans and it's traditions. Roy clearly didn't, Kenny clearly does. Could well see him get the job full time should it all go well, he ticks all the boxes Comolli mentioned.

For once, I agree with you.

          Rafa lost the dressing room.
          Oh I don't know.

I find something about him quite odd, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

He's been classed as a Don of transfers and a keen investor in youth, but his success is no more than 50/50 - I'm sure I could get paid **** loads, catch some games and then provide a list of half-decent footballers.

'Director of Football Strategy' ... meh, we'll see.

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has stated he doesn’t have a problem working under the Director of Football Strategy Damien Comolli:
“It’s important that we have someone who is there and is actively organising people, looking at team reports and match preparations that include individual players that the club may have an interest in. I think it’s a fantastic help and I certainly do not have a problem with Damien. Hopefully it’s the same from his point of view.”
King Kenny also responded to questions to whether the owners might be seeking a younger long term manager:
“Harry Redknapp’s done fantastically well at Tottenham. Fergie’s been there for 30 years so he’s always been successful at United apart from the first few years. I suppose it depends on the individual, everybody’s different. It’s all very well having experience, but sometimes with that experience it doesn’t necessarily get you knowledge. We just want to move upwards and onwards. You saw the way the players went about their work (at Old Trafford), their determination to try and get something from it was of great credit to them. Whether the age makes a difference, I don’t know if it’s a help or a hindrance. When I first came in I was 34 and I had no real football knowledge then.”
He is also said that the club will be considering buying players in January if the right opportunity comes along:
“The most important people for us are the people that are here. We are going to concentrate on them and everyone will be given an opportunity. If something comes up that is an attractive opportunity for the club then we may well take it. It’s impossible to say one way or another.”

I don’t get it either, I thought he had some clause in his contract allowing him to be sacked for minimal compensation if the takeover went through. I remember reading one article saying that FSG had so many weeks after the takeover to sack him on the cheap and that expired not too long ago, but surely they wouldn’t have been that careless?

The £3m that was initially doing the rounds has to be closer to the mark.

Not thathe's an insider, but Johnny Giles reckoned on Off The Ball last Thursday that it was clear for a long time from a number of player's attitude that they didn't believe in what Hodgson was trying to do. He had totally sympathy for Torres especially and believed that gerrard bullied him onto being played in his worst position (CM obviously). He seemd to suggest that one litmus test of an LFC manager is where they play Gerrard and it HAS TO BE OFF TORRES.

Philipe Oclaire (sp?) French journo on Talk**** today said he thought Comolli and Dalglish was a”strange relationship” as they are two very different people”, although both are strong willed.

Also described Comolli as being enterprising and at the cutting edge of statistical analysis (so no surprise FSG thinks he can do a job). He was apparently quite a decent player until he got a bad injury.

Said the positions are clear and that Comolli’s role is more strategic and encompasses far more than the first team.

No great revelations but thought I’d stick it in here anyway.

That's ridiculous, and unforgivable. How did he even give the team talk before the match? I can picture the poor old codger rubbing his face frantically, looking all confused in the boiler room.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Therefore in one season we wasted 23.5. Had we kept benitez we would have avoided the above. If we went with the King we would have only spent 6m. No wonder we are in a real mess off the pitch.

I wonder at times what was purslow thinking getting hodgson in. You just have to look at his permiership stats.
Don't forget the fee we played to Fulham as compensation. Wasn't that pretty much the Benayoun transfer fee?
