I was really hoping our money worries were over, maybe they are, but its certainly time for Mr Henry to step up to the plate.

Its gonna need a substantial amount of money to get us amongst the top 4 or 5.

Play 4231 and have the 3 behind Torres as Cole, Gerrard and Babel.

Far more goal threat in those three, than in Meireles, Kuyt and Jovanovic. Kuyt's usually good for a few goals, but he's looked dreadful this season, maybe time is catching up with him.

I'm not sold out on Cole though, I think he doesn't possess the game intelligence and goal threat like Yossi for example. For that reason, I'd play Kuyt ahead of him.

Cole has the spark & creativity to play the role.

Cole and Babel be good impact players but we need proper quality in these two areas. Everything breaks down in the final third, we give the ball away and suddenly the whole team is under pressure.

They may not be the ideal example of top quality, but they are the best options we have in those areas. In terms of creativity (Cole) and pace (Babel), there arent any better people in our squad for these roles.

I agree with that he's got a 'spark' in his game that Dirk doesn't have. Maybe he'll improve under Kenny.

It's blindingly obvious that we need to buy wide players, the problem is we need to ship out the ones we have got, and that isn't happening. I'm sure Henry said that ****/old players on long contracts will have an impact on transfers for the next few years, unless they are willing to leave.

Disagree about Cole lacking game intelligence, i think he has as much as Dirk, who consistently tries to beat me when we all know he cant do it, keeps putting in crosses in his usual aimless manner, and still doesnt have the intelligence to know what things will work and what wont.

Cole hasnt had a run of fitness yet, so he deserves more patience.

Sounds like we found our newest defender for the club, are you left footed craigybabes?

We do need a couple of players to occupy the wide roles that are creative and can chip in with 10 goals a season (preferably more ). But these types of players will probably cost £20m+ But they are the positions that would make a huge difference. I've compalined about quite a few of the players in our squad not being good enough. But I'd be happy if the only additions we made were to bring in 2 such players. Unfortuantely I think we'd be lucky to get 1 in this window.

Turan has to be considered, he'd join in a heartbeat, and Kenny is a known admirer.
