Most Everton fans I know don't rate Arteta, apperently has been **** for a while. With Lucas and Fellaini it depends what you want they play a rather different game, same with Kuyt and Pienaar and Kuyt can actually score.

I love how they're trotting out the old "he's a great man manager", "arm round the shoulder" ****e about O'Neill.

Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Must be completely the opposite to every single Everton fan i've ever talked to.

He didnt say 'the squad left for Roy wasnt good enough...'

              The transcript:

Stelling: "Could you imagine, preseason Jamie, that Liverpool would've been in this situation?"

Carragher: "No, but I think we've got to remember that last season we finished 7th and then we lost Mascherano as well, who was a top player for us. So, at the start of the season we thought we could get back in the top four, but looking at the squad compared to the other teams, I think we've got to be realistic now and think that UEFA Cup qualification is what we're looking at and what we should've been looking for that at the start of the season. We should still be higher than where we are, but the squad that we've got at the moment, we all realise, has not been good enough. I dont that was all down to Roy Hodgson, the squad wasnt good enough last season. And Kenny's come in and lost the first two games as well and I think, three different managers now, with the same set of players, so I think it's something we have to look at ourselves, the players."

I dont think he particularly absolves anyone of all blame, or points the finger at anyone in particular.

"the squad wasn't good enough last season" - sick of hearing that ****e. It wasn't good enough for what? To come higher than 13th? It's balls. Revisionist muck. Okay we weren't good enough to win the league but no-one expected us to win the league this season. We sacked a manager for the ignominy of coming 7th, the idea being we'd improve. Now all of a sudden the squad Rafa left wasn't good enough and that's why we're 13th.

                We're 13th because of Hodgson.

Well i must know the same ones as Matt as they don't rate him either. He WAS a quality player but was going to leave in ths summer they gave him more money on an improved contract and he has been ****e ever since.

Maybe you just haven't talked to them in a while...........

you can't have your cake and eat it.

Either the squad wasn't good enough and Benitez did well or the squad was decent and Benitez did ****.

Hold on, what's 13th got to do with last season?

He said the squad wasnt good enough last season - and before last season started, a lot of pundits, and a lot of us, we tipping us to win the title, or at least challenge for it. There was positivity in abundance and i should think ALL of us thought we'd at least go close.

As it was, what happened proved that the squad wasnt good enough to cope with that level of expectation and deliver on it.

So what's the issue with saying the squad wasnt good enough last season?

That viewpoint has nothing to do with being 13th now, and below Stoke, Blackpool etc etc.

You start off with the comment that the squad wasnt good enough LAST season, and call it balls - fair enough - but then "Okay we weren't good enough to win the league but no-one expected us to win the league this season" - i'm a bit unsure if you might've been mixing together last season and this season.

Surprised nobody commented on the love in Carragher was having about Martin O'Neill. Wouldn't surprise me if he was lobbying to get that prick in as manager. He goes all gooey for managers who don't comment through the press doesn't he?

The inference being that this season is no different to last season, "because we weren't good enough last season either".
