Yes their were some positives but at the end of the day the team nevermind the squad is lacking in quality.

I'd be all for Maxi, Mehreles and Kuyt being squad men but starting week in, week out in such a demanding league as the Premiership? i dont think they have it in them.

Obviously that defence needs to get sorted but we're still crying out for another striker, it's getting beyond a joke now. it's so obvious!!
    - Last 15, 20 we have no-one to come on up front and work with Torres...Torres is taken by the 2 centre halfs and is outnumbered time and time again. He must be frustrated as ****.

Abso-****ing-lutely. We need at least two new CB's, one of which has to be a ball-playing CB to cover Agger.

By the way what was the deal with the injury? Will he be fit for our next game?
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Unfortunately I think to increase the aggression we will have to buy players who will be unpopular choices to the fans
The thing is, most fans want big names only but you only have to look at the latest Manure and the last title winning Leeds side to see that sometimes players you don't think are good enough for your team actually work as a team which is why I was daft enough to think that PFK would be ok.

Oh, yeah, that may not be the best example.

Hell no, of course you can't. It's just sometimes on here you wonder if it's ok to think for yourself or have your own opinion.

its a long road. but i dont see anything wrong in that.

would i prefer to wake up tomorrow and it all be ok, yes but in the real world it will take time and i would rather the club was built on strong foundations than sand

                  @Kenneth Dalglish
Your backing truly helped the lads today.
In addition to the positive signs (or shoots) in the way we played that's been mentioned by rational posters there was also improvement in the crowd and atmosphere.

During the first half I began to actually enjoy myself at a game at Anfield and remembered why I used to enjoy going to games - I'd almost forgotten the feeling. The enjoyment came from the type of football were were playing and the crowd supporting the team, not sitting in abject silence.

It was frustrating that we couldn't continue the first half performance and that we ended up drawing but I walked away from Anfield feeling more positive than I have for a long time. I hope the improvements continue.

                      Just back in after game

I believe Skyrtl has cost us results in the last 2 games . Utter ****e

Another positive performance and Dalglish has huge balls to play the youngsters in the derby .

                      Great atmosphere at times .

We battered Everton in the first half, Torres looked back to something near his best and if it wasn't for 5 mad minutes after Agger had to come off I think we would have gone on to win.
Skrtel was at fault for both goals, Spearing isn't good enough, Kelly is now 1st team regular not a squad player.
Get Gerrard back in off Torres, buy a player or maybe 2 and we will be back up towards top 8 which is all we can ask for from here
Spot on mate, the doom mongering kneejerkers have become a parody of themselves now. All this talk of 'major overhaul' and needing to ship out half the team, is nonsense IMO. We could do with 2 or 3 additions for sure, but i imagine every PL manager would feel the same in that respect.

Our biggest problem is confidence, it's about as strong as wet tissue paper right now, as soon as we concede, we collapse. But we fought back well today.

As it happens, us being 3-0 up at HT wouldnt have been flattering, we ripped them to pieces first half and but for Torres hitting the post with one effort and having Howard pull of a good save for another, we'd have had the game won before the 2nd half.

Everton basically played for 20 minutes today and they got their 2 goals from that period of time.

Questions need to be asked defensively, and it's poor that we can concede 2 goals from only being put under any real pressure for 20 minutes, but it again goes back to confidence, Skrtel's a nervous wreck and that'll never be a great situation to be defending from. Agger's injury didnt help matters and Johnson wasnt great again. Likewise with him, the lack of confidence is ****ing tangible, he almost looks scared to receive the ball at times, dreadful to see.

But that was our best performance under Kenny so far and the best we've seen overall since we beat Chelsea IMO.

Plenty of positives and just a mad period of 8 minutes cost us 2 points.

Kelly was excellent, as was Torres first half. Meireles had a very good game, as did Lucas, and Spearing held his own.

Looking forward to Wolves next weekend.

I know which game Birdman was watching, i was at it.

No idea which you saw. We battered them first half, got caught cold in the 2nd, which caused the confidence to just diminish, and it took us maybe 20 mins to recover and get back into the game.

Second half they came at us and we had a horrible spell in defence allowing them to score two goals. It shot our already fragile confidence to pieces.

I thought Spearing was ok, Kelly was very good, but Kuyt had another poor game. I'm a big fan but I really think he could do with a rest.

I'm surprised that we didn't bring Babel or Pacheco on for Maxi or kuyt.

Glen had a decent game at LB.

We are at least playing better football under Kenny, and it's a step in the right direction. We'll get there (not sure where there is mind).

Those are my brief thoughts on the game. Thanks for reading.
Aye, i wouldnt have chucked Pacheco into that, but in the last 10-15 mins, both sides were tiring and i thought it was perfect for a fresh Babel to come on, run at defenders and stretch them. Not sure why Kenny didnt go for it.

When Agger didn't turn out for the second half, i thought Kenny could have brought Aurelio on in his place and moved Kelly into the centre and Johnson to right back.
Saying as the Greek and Skrtel are all over the place as a partnership and Kelly was having a fine game so i'm sure playing in the centre would have been no problem for him.
You teaching Kenny a lesson about management decisions and common sense, now i've seen it all

PS - i'm just joking around with you, dont go getting upset

Liverpool being the home team should always be going out for the 3 points and considering Everton were without Jageila, Cahill, Pienaar and Saha...4 guaranteed starters...it's most definitely an opportunity missed.
Agree with you in general about looking to win the game, but also dont forget we were missing Gerrard, Carragher and then Agger for the 2nd half. All big players for us.

                                Sounds about right .

We need a new cb, a new masch and new attacking players

Masch still warming the bench at Barca ? Waste of a player . Never gonna fit their style of play

Anyway , speaking to peolple at the game , agreed that a vast improvement all round . When you concede as easy as we do . It's frustrating
