Thought we played well first half, and really should have gone in more than one up.

Second half they came at us and we had a horrible spell in defence allowing them to score two goals. It shot our already fragile confidence to pieces.

I thought Spearing was ok, Kelly was very good, but Kuyt had another poor game. I'm a big fan but I really think he could do with a rest.

I'm surprised that we didn't bring Babel or Pacheco on for Maxi or kuyt.

Glen had a decent game at LB.

We are at least playing better football under Kenny, and it's a step in the right direction. We'll get there (not sure where there is mind).

I thought Kuyt and Maxi were two of our best performers. In fact our attacking play was fine throughout, we maybe should have scored more first half, but again our defence (Skrtel) let us down. Agger was also very good before he went off. Only one clean sheet in competitive games since Carra got injured and that was against a very poor Villa side.

If you want a proper answer, which anyone with half a brain ought to be able to work out for themselves....

Give the owners a few transfer windows, give a temp manager 10 games or so, give a permanent manager a few transfer windows, give the new head coach half a season...

Sorry that doesn't translate into yesterday for you, but you'll find few sensible people who would disagree with that.

A lot of fans don't like players that are good footballers; they start to panic if a player doesn't mindlessly hoof the ball forward after 2 seconds, or wave their arms and shout a lot. Saftey-first steady eddies are prized, yet somehow there is still a demand for us to beat all before us.

today certainly wasn't all bad - I thought the first half we were very good - we pressed and pushed at them, looked assured on the ball - some decent passing and moving with Torres looking back on his game, Kelly and Agger both looked really good.

The 2nd half though the same old demons we've had all season descended and we reverted back to what we've been doing all season.

Our main issue is confidence, as soon as they scored heads dropped and the football turned into a hot potato for 20 minutes or so but we got back into it and found a 2nd goal to grab a draw.

All in all disappointed in not getting all 3 points from our start but pleased to see a bit of character come through to get back in the game.

KK has had a week with the lads now and it'll take a while to get them confident again but this won't have hurt and with Steve Clarke on board I think and expect us to improve week on week.

Not going to be any miracles though and it's gonna be a bloody long season!

Think its relistic to be honest... we are currently 13th in the table 3 points above the relegation zone and we were missing Gerrard and Carragher. Of course we should always be going for 3 points (away or at home) but coming back from 2-1 down for a point is not the end of the world espeically with the improved performance and the fact that it was a derby match.

We only missed Gerrard; Carragher forces the team backwards.

I disagree that we didn't miss Carragher, we'd have been better if we'd had Carragher playing in place of Skrtel.

Apart from keeping his nerve for the pen, Kuyt was abysmal. And I've already told you, we had a negative goal difference when Carragher was hoofing, so what difference would he make? He's even worse than Skrtel in the air.

that's an interesting point, because the team really suffered many years ago when we lost a similar(ish) player in Souness - it took us a season to get over it. And then factor in losing Alonso too the season before, and all the new comers to the club and it's hardly surprising, if not disappointing, that we're suffering now. The whole club is being turned upsdie down and I think people are forgetting that.

Carra to be fair would have added some organisational skills rather than the headless chicken approach to football.

Carra is a much better defender than Skrtel who at present is woeful!

We're so **** when we go ahead these days. I swear it's ever since we conceded those soft goals that knocked us out of the CL last year. Our arse just ****ing goes. That said, their first wasn't a corner, somehow megged Pepe and then hit the post FFS. Their second play should've been stopped imo. Yet more soft goals.

We're definitely heading in the right direction though. I thought an attacking sub was desperately needed but it never came sadly.

A couple of quality additions could abso****inglutely transform us as a team.

I think we really need to build from the back. All the best sides can rely on their defence. There has been too much change at the back for me, I know some of it is enforced but a lot of it has been through choice.
