From the official site:Originally posted by Rudo View PostStill trying to figure out why Aurelio was on the bench but not on the pitch - despite seemingly being rested in midweek with this match in mind.
Strange to say the least.
Does anyone know what happened Agger that he couldn't play the 2nd half...did he have a little cough or something?
Liverpool's chances weren't helped by the substitution of the excellent Daniel Agger at half-time because of illness.
Dalglish added: "He was ill during the week at Blackpool and did well to survive that game. He's got a stomach problem.
"He's not really eaten properly since the Blackpool game so it's a great credit to him that he wanted to play and he did play so well in the first half. I don't think the change was the reason we lost a couple of goals - the bounce of the ball just went against us."

Our central defenders are a joke. Alright, they work hard and are old fashioned pros' but short of Agger their game intelligence is totally zero. It shows. Getting Carra back in isn't going to help that. They take huge risks by grabbing chunks if shirts in the box and are horribly slow. We need 3 fit Agger equivilants and hey presto. Problem solvo.
If Agger doesn't play our play becomes totally one sided. Hoof sided as we don't know how to build our play from the back. A decent window though and I think the second half of the season might be rather profitable.A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

As much as I no longer believe this group of players, bar a few, I did take some positives from the game firstly the fact that in the first half I saw players moving into space demanding the ball, excellent and secondly that they did battle back for a draw after falling in to the same old routine.
For me, all I'm looking for is to make sure we don't get drawn into a relegation battle, which is something we should never do but this team is capable of, and that we start again next season, new man in charge and quite a number of changes.
No kneejerk reaction here, just what I believe. I just want to start recognising my football team again.

my thoughts exactly come on the red lets continue this and start to climb this fkn tableOriginally posted by Tatterdemalion View PostCome guys, by and large that was a good performance. We outplayed them in the first half, got our heads down in the first but came back well. More steel, playing higher up the pitch, with more confidence and passion. Things are getting better and it takes time. I'm encouraged even if I'm disappointed at conceding those two goals.

I agree with a lot of what you've put there but I would put as an opposite to your last point, 'Some people can't seem to get their heads round that a number of our players just aren't good enough'Originally posted by Tatterdemalion View PostNew Owners
New Manager
New First Team Coach
Not to mention things like new medical team etc.
Shattered confidence all round
It takes time to turn things around. Some people can't seem to get their heads round that and expect improvements immediately.

And some people just look at what they are seeing, and whilst there are definite improvements, come to the conclusion that there needs to be a bit of an overhaul to turn things around and certainly do not expect instant results just because Roy has gone and the King has returned.Originally posted by Tatterdemalion View Post
Some people demand instant results without really understanding what it takes to turn things around.
They have seen things going downhill for 18 months and feel a fresh approach is required to start to turn things around.

Agree with you there. We need at least 5 new signings, I would like to see 2/3 now and 2/3 in the summer.Originally posted by SimonNo7 View PostI agree with a lot of what you've put there but I would put as an opposite to your last point, 'Some people can't seem to get their heads round that a number of our players just aren't good enough'
On the plus side, it's good to see Kenny adopting a very positive formation. With the right players he would have us playing wonderful football.Brandt - Keita - Van Dijk - Sessegnon
