i am not disagreeing. i absolutely agree that roy took us backwards his buys were awful aswell.

however this does ignore that there seemed to be a problem there before.

i am not blaming rafa for it as the clubs problems are well documented and argued.

to me if it was just roys fault then we would have good enough players but i dont think the defensive players are good enough with the exeption of the injury prone ones.

i think Rafa would have liked to have strengthened more in the centre but its just conjecture on my part

Skrtel is a poison CB, i wanted him gone in the summer, he has gone epically downhill. Rash,Clumsy,Poor on the deck and shocking in the air. At least with Soto we knew what we were getting which was a squaddie thats good in the air. We have dire problems at the back IMO. For all the tattoos and shaved head, same as Meireles both players are pussycats.

yeah i know but Roy must have really coached them well if he got those things ingraned in the squad? for him to have irreparably damaged it in just 6 months. before that they years of good coaching from Rafa and now the King and steve clark etc.

i just think that Roy destroying everything in 6 months is a bit easy. There were problems before and Roy made things worse but

either our players arent good enough to respond to Kenny

          or

Roy was a coaching genius to have got them soo used to his ways in 6 months that they wont learn any better

this doestn mean it wont take time to coach them into better ways but i think that its in part a problem carried over from last season.
Yes there were problems but hes made things 10 times worse

Hes no tactical genius take that from me - I've heard someone inside Melwood describe Hodgsons methods as brainwashing to create a robotic performance

Hes ****ing destroyed the confidence of the players, he also had them nowhere near at the physical level required

Some players clearly respond quicker Reina, Kelly, Agger & Torres for instance

I'd expect we start to see the others slowly responding also there were signs of positives for me today, lots of triangle play and running off the ball

Disappointed with the result but I'm not going to be overly critical of the performance (apart from our defending on the 2 goals which was horrific)

rafa said we needed more players to challenge, the bodge will have said something similar (he said all sorts so its bound to have been in one of his many interviews) and its still the case under the King.

How many players is a matter of opinion on here and there are differing views.

there has been something wrong at the back since rafas last season. whilst it was better that year than now we still seemed less sure at the back than previously. of course this year we have fallen apart at the back, in part due to tactics and part due to whatever the problem was the year before.

what i dont agree on is that carra is the answer to those problems.
With you there man, not a fan of his at all anymore. The air swimming and desperate grabbing got tired 18 months ago and he's gone backwards since then. The problem is, he's the man in the defence they all deferred to as a unit, its noticeable now how we're lacking a calm authoritive presence at the back like Sami. they all look to Carragher for the guidance and when he's not there, there's nobody able to step up and take a lead.

We need more aggression in midfield and at centreback

Unfortunately I think to increase the aggression we will have to buy players who will be unpopular choices to the fans

your missing the point i am making lec or i am missing yours or both

i am not i repeat NOT disagreeing tht bodge made things worse. however if they are irreparably bad then either the players arent good as no one can coach them to do any better or if they are good enough then roy must have been a genious to ingrane his ways permanently on players who are good enough.

by the way i dont think roy is a genious in any way and i also dont think the players are good enough on the whole. they will get better with the better coaching and systems and we are seeing tht already. so i dont think its irreparable at all.

Do you mean like Konchesky and Poulson

By the way I'd have picked Poulson ahead of Spearing today
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

A lot of negativity here today.

For me in the Man U game I started to see some spirit and fight in the players which gave me hope.

Against Blackpool I saw a glimmer of the potential and then we reverted back to type which brought me back to reality.

For this game I saw a good performance in the first half, finally we completed passes and looked in control of a game. In the last 30 minutes I saw some intelligent attacking play and movement on and off the ball. All in all 75 minutes of decent football that has given me belief.

Now the King has a full week to train with the players and practice his half time team talks! Going into the game next week I finally have confidence, and it's been a long long time since I've been able to say that.

I'm confident we are going to win next week.

Sorry, I took it that you might be having a go at people who have actually thought for some time and then dare to suggest that some of our players are not good enough for our club.

I do also realise you might be having a go at genuine kneejerkers!

i think part of the problem is that roy was that bad that many forgot that our players were not as good as we wanted in many positions.

however i do think the players are better than the current league position, and that is roys fault

No worries. I think lots of players need replacing too, I just don't think you can do it in 16 days.
                              Really?
