Fair enough, I just personally thought that Johnson did very well.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostDunno about this chalkboard lark, but i was there and saw it with my own eyes - the number of times Johnson just tapped it back to the person who'd given it to him in the first place, was significant.

I'm not having a pop at him, i like Johnson and rate him highly. And yeah, he did pretty well overall. Just pointing out how obvious it is right now, that he has absolutely no confidence whatsoever. Which is a shame, because a confident Johnson in full flow, can rip opposition defences to shreds.

Only thing missing with Maxi is the pace (even the little he had a few year ago), the pressing higher up the pitch shows how useful his talents can be all the same.
This amazing ability to always miss the target with follow-up efforts is starting to grate though

I think he could have attacked Neville more, when he did Neville looked terrified and just backed off.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostI'm not having a pop at him, i like Johnson and rate him highly. The boy's showed commitment, fight and overall great team work to get back in to the game.
OK there was 7 mins of complete chaos and their heads dropped, but the belief came back and they fought to the last min to take the 3 points.
Several current players we know are not good enough, but they are what we have at this moment in time and we need to get behind them and the management team.
WE as supporters need to show those lads that we are fully behind them, this will boost their confidence and make them push that little bit more.
Finally KK is doing a great job in his first full week, YES 1st WEEK and I believe we cannot have expected more from him it will take time, but there ois already a massive improvement over the last 3 games and some of us need to remember, Kenny hasn't got a magic wand but he is a genius and will turn us around in time.
I fully believe our first 3 points under Kenny will come next weekend against Wolves., and then we'll begin to flow...

A player like Spearing will get an easier time and better rating from the media because he is from our Academy and English.
If Lucas had put in a performance like that he would have been slaughtered.
Just like Gerrard and Carragher get a lot of protection in the media.
Spearing is simply not good enough if we want to challenge for the title or a CL place. He is good enough if we want to challenge for a mid-table position.Stop the cyberhate

from now on I will skip talking about our finances. That is a promise and will save myself from looking like a

We battered Everton in the first half, Torres looked back to something near his best and if it wasn't for 5 mad minutes after Agger had to come off I think we would have gone on to win.
Skrtel was at fault for both goals, Spearing isn't good enough, Kelly is now 1st team regular not a squad player.
Get Gerrard back in off Torres, buy a player or maybe 2 and we will be back up towards top 8 which is all we can ask for from here
I agree we need some new players, but we weren't ****e in the slightest.Originally posted by malg View PostYe you was watching a different game.

we were ****e people are clutching at straws, we need at least 4 new high quality players. The new yanks were at the match maybe some new players are coming but wouldn't hold your breath.
I agree. In the past, he's made up for his lack of first touch and ball control with workrate and general never say die attitude. That hasn't been as evident this season though, and he looks like he's got worse in terms of general footballing ability. I don't really have anything to back it up other than my own opinion, but it seemed like he either gave the ball away or took too long to control it when it got to him, thereby slowing our play down massivelyOriginally posted by Shaggy View Post
He was ****ing garbage. The number of attacks that died at his feet was utterly soul destroying. Dirk won me over some time ago but his form this season hasn't been good enough and IMO should be dropped.
He's been brilliant for a long time for us, but I no longer think he should be the first name on the teamsheet anymore

And his total lack of a left foot hampered us no end. Appreciate that his cross gave us a goal, but there were a ****load of times when he bombed down the wing and had plenty opportunity to cross, but had to stop in order to use his right foot. So frustrating as he was getting into excellent positions
Confidence shot, as with a lot of the players. Looks like it's coming back though

People should stop looking at stats. They can be usefull if you know what you're looking for, but using them to debate how effective a player was is ridiculous. How's about people just watch the game and take their judgements from that?
I remember looking at the Opta stats a few seasons a go and that was when I realised stats aren't all they're cracked up to be. If they had been I would have been thinking some seriously average players were top class.Forwards.......

Have you considered the possibilities that your subjective judgement is less accurate than you think, or that you are not a skilled interpreter of statistics?Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostPeople should stop looking at stats. No, I wasn't impressed either. He offered nothing really. I watched the post-match phone-in on LFC TV and I couldn't believe a couple of callers who went on about him as if he'd been magnificent. If he's the answer someone's asking the wrong questionsOriginally posted by Mattshark View PostWas I the only one who thought Spearing was poor?

He stood out as being highly involved mainly due to his tenacityOriginally posted by Redspin View PostNo, I wasn't impressed either. He offered nothing really. Not sure how it looked on the tellybox but IMO he was all over the place (in a good way!) and was tackling and pressurising them constantly
Can remember 1 or 2 decent passes, but not much else. It was his attitude and workrate that stood out for meI saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
