Given this transitional period, I can see that he's trying to blood young players as they should have no fear and I'm all for that principle. I'm also all for giving players on the margins a go uner a new managaer as they have a chance to prove themselves and he's done this to an extent. What were Babel and Cole thinking when Shelvy came on against Everton?

I think there's been perhaps one too many change from the left field been made in each match. GJ left back, Jova, Poulsen against Blackpool and Spearing starting, Shelvy being sent on to win the game against Everton. The application of effort is up, the tempo is up, Torres's gander seems to be up. There has been vast improvement over a short time, but also some head scratching too.

We've had Dirk, Torres & Agger all come out saying they are happier with things

      Cant say I'm surprised

I thought Babel did very well when he came on against united and his omission in the two league games has surprised me.

I was thinking about the amount of time Babel has been with us. I think he hasn't played due to the twitter gate hearing ?

Kenny is definitely influenced by Rafa or put it simply, he's just playing the formation that suits us best. As for the substitutions, he's trying to use the squad.
              Are we winning?

My feeling is he is more or less treating these few games as a pre-season. Changing style was always going to be painful and he had to get an idea of which players were going to do a job for him. I also think some players have looked jaded and perhaps a bit of rotation might help them too.

Agree with Neil and Lec in general on this.

Funny you should mention Rafa but I was talking to a mate last night who said something and frankly I have to agree with him

He said if Kenny had been in charge in 2008/2009 we would have won the league

Thats not being romantic or anything but Kennys approach is far more open and positive than Rafas and back then we had a brilliant playmaker and had a world class holding player as well as a defence performing well

                    KELLY-----SKRTEL----------AGGER----AURELIO

With dirk helping in midfield as well............i couldnt understand spearing to be honest.... even if we played Joe Cole in the gerrard role roaming behind torres with dirk on the right hand side.......

i think stevie getting a 3 match ban was ****in stupid as well.......idiot
To be fair that 1st half against Neverton was the best we've played all season, passed the ball around well, good movement and should have been 2 or 3 up by half time.

We had a poor 20 minutes in the 2nd half but no surprise with the way we've played this entire season.

I think KK is trying things out who's good enough, who's not and working from there, seems he is giving everyone a chance though

the blackpool game i kinda understood the changes - we'd played for anhour with 10 men away to the mancs, and with the derby coming up it was key to rest players...

what has concerned me is playing glen johnson at left back twice!!

he also away to wolves looked to reluctanct to make a change that was so desperatly needed - Jovanovic and kuyt should have made way for maxi and ngog no later than the 60th minute

Positives are he has at least in my eyes tried to get us playing some football - problem is, there isn't enough footballers.
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

Ah right. I also read it wrong. Thought it said Jovanovic should of came on which really confused me.

Think there's a bit of Kenny (re)blooding himself too here when we have nowt to play for in the league.

Selections aside, I've certainly seen more spark & belief in the team - even if it is just the beginnings. Reckon we'd have lost the derby when it went to 1-2 under the Bodge.
                              3rd place. Worst champions ever.

not sure we would have got a goal under the bodge
