I see what you did there.Originally posted by Neil Young View PostTo me it all shows we need to remember what our job is.
The way one or two on this thread slagged off Dalglish before the game is both unbelievable and, frankly, unacceptable. Still, I suppose it just makes them look like idiots so maybe there's no real harm.
Modifying post.

With Gerrard coming back should be intersting to see where he puts Meireles. IMO Meireles should be up behind Torres if anywhere, he's busy, makes some good runs and like to have a strike on goal, so makes sense having hi in a more free and attacking role, nearer to the goal & to Torres.
In the CM, IMO its a bit too much for him, its rough and tumble in there and he doesn't seem to be able for that. Stevie & Lucas in the CM, Lucas breaking things up and Stevie picking the passes, linking things up and making runs, with Meireles ahead with less defensive responsibility and playing to his strengths.
IMO Kenny will line-up like this vs Fulham:
-----------Reina-------
Kelly--Skrtel--Agger--Johnson
Kuyt--Lucas--Gerrard--Maxi
----------Meireles----------
----------Torres------------
Personally i'd like to see:
-----------Reina-------
Kelly--Skrtel--Agger--Aurelio
Johnson--Lucas--Gerrard--Maxi
----------Meireles----------
----------Torres------------
But the team looking and playing much better, i'm a hell of alot more confident going into games under kenny, i think it would be great to get a few consecutive wins before the Chelsea game, which we could come unstuck.Last edited by danperkins; 23-01-11, 04:52 PM.

That's not remotely his natural position. He's a box to box midfielder, arrives late into the area and uses the ball from his CM positon, then moves. Suited to pass and move, actually. But he's not naturally an 'in the hole' player at all.
Meireles should go next to Lucas, with Gerrard off Torres. It's a no brainer.
Gerrard cant naturally play alongside Lucas and Meireles isnt a natural in the hole type player. Whereas he's perfectly suited to play next to Lucas and Gerrard is perfectly suited to play behind Torres.
Those respective roles suit each respective player's strengths and weaknesses perfectly.

In addition to this there has to be some rotation between the 3 of them to allow Lucas and Merieles to get forward as wellOriginally posted by Craig_H View PostThat's not remotely his natural position.
