Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Sure, compared to other pundits and commentators maybe. But he's also a Liverpool fan and 90% of us had been saying the same for months.Originally posted by Kronenburg1892 View PostThat was what was quite refreshing. I guess he realised sooner than others than KK was actually a good appointment for LFC, and that the blame didn't just rest on the players or Rafa.
And for the last week or two of Hodgson, even people in the media were starting to say his time was up.
But it doesn't matter when a sinner repents so long as they do.

Yeah true. That piece above may have been an epiphany (did I spell that correctly this time?Originally posted by Neil Young View PostSure, compared to other pundits and commentators maybe. But he's also a Liverpool fan and 90% of us had been saying the same for months.

) on how the media feed off each other, and maybe he actually did a bit of his own research on what actual fans were thinking.
He didn't like Roy being sacked at the time. He thought he should have had more time. The Wolves game was the first time I'd heard him actually talk some truth about how 'negative' Hodgson was.
Anyway, as you say. As long as he repents, and finds another word other than 'shocking'....

Spoony, Murray, Dion Fanning, Martin Keown. Yeah a few.Originally posted by Charly View PostIS there anyone in the media you lot do like?
Alan Green is great. Just because you are anti Rafa doesnt make you pro Hodgeson, or vice versa. Rafa was ****e during his last season, and Green called him on that, which is his job.

I said I got fed up listening to the man moaning about how crap the football is. I didn't say he was talking about Liverpool because he says it about lots of matches.
It's not about his attitude to Benitez. Sky's hyping up of games is pathetic but Green goes to the opposite extreme..

The anti-LFC feeling amongst the media and football fans in England IS very strong. My impression has always been that, although we thought Rafa was a god, most other people thought he was very arrogant and that is the source of a huge amount of the badwill. Badwill is costly ultimately, and was a contributing factor in my acceptance of Rafa's departure (though not a major factor because to some extent I like the us against the world feeling).
I think the media is actually pretty positive towards Kenny. I also think there is little long-term pro-Hodgson feeling that improved results will not soon silence.

Heysel didn't help, whatever the mitigating circumstances, a lot of clubs blame us for not playing in europe and the media probably followed suit with less big events to report on."that is my opinion and that is more important than what anyone else has to say about it" - Mr A.Fergusson, Oct 2011

Green is a very black and white, opinionated commentator I find him difficult to listen to these days. I used to love him but these days he really grates. He can be made slightly more acceptable by being paired with Graham Taylor sometimes.Originally posted by Neil Young View PostYou're leaping to conclusions again.

At some point he tipped over into self-parody. I don't mind people saying what they think but we all have to allow room for doubt, especially when one's credentials as a judge are less than complete.
Of course that doesn't just apply to Green.
